Both academics and ECs appear decent, not outstanding. You’ll have a shot at acceptance, but not a lot more than that.

anyone else?

I think you have a fairly good shot at acceptance. Are you being recruited to play basketball? Talking to the coach may help your chances of acceptance if he agrees to support you. Your SAT is a little low, but certainly not bad! Good luck!

Solid academics. RD is such a lottery it is hard to say anyone has a god chance.
I wouldn’t send SAT Chem results if you took it separate from others.
Show as much interest as ou can (visit if possible).

SAT could be higher, given Olin has a high average SAT score. I don’t think you should worry though, since I got in Olin with a much lower score than yours. Otherwise, your stat looks great. You have a fair shot.

I have never heard of stated SAT scores by college. It is also my understanding that you get accepted to WashU and that you aren’t competing for a spot in a specific college. This is supported by the fact that you can easily switch majors and coleges in your Fr and Soph years.

What type of area/HS are you from? So much of this is how you stack up against your peers. I’ve met a lot of kids whose resumes and classes wouldn’t have gotten them in from my school, but they came from much smaller communities with fewer opportunities and course options. They’re looking to see if you took advantage of the opportunities around you and how you compare to the kids you go to school with. It’s important to keep that in mind.

Thank you everyone! I come from a very competitive public high school, and I have heard of a good amount of kids from my area (surrounding schools/family friends) who got in ED. With that said, I assume there is a good amount of applicants. One other student from my school is applying RD, and he happens to be the valedictorian with amazing EC’s, lol.

Hey, i think you have a pretty good chance. Your SAT’s kinda low but it’s not bad either. Have you visited or interviewed?

@Happyasever I have not had the chance to visit or interview yet, but if accepted I definitely plan to visit.

If you can do an alum interview, def do it! At Wash U demonstrated interest is key! Write to the local rep with some achievements you may have had in the first semester such as strong grades or ask a question about a teacher. Also, if you are interested in a specific area of business and there is a prof in that area, reach out to them.

@Crystal, what is your advice about reaching out to a professor based on?
To my knowledge the professors have nothing to do with the admissions process nor do they want to get involved.

When my daughter was applying to Wesleyan, she was interested in studying korean language. The admissions officer suggested she reach out to the professor – he said professors communicate to admin office demonstrated interest… Which is big at WUSTL. My daughter emailed a bit with professors/adcomstyp at a few of her

I don’t think there is a link to applying as a foreign language major at Wesleyan to applying as a business major at WashU.

I am pretty confident that WashU profs have nothing to with the admissions process at WashU.
