So...what are my chances??? Please chance me, and I promise I'll chance you back asap!!!

I think you have a pretty high chance to get in. you have loads of extracurricular activities and although I don’t know the average gpa for Northeastern acceptances, I think your gpa is solid. Only flaw I saw was the writing score and somewhat the SAT literature score, but Northeastern doesn’t even look at writing scores. One thing Northeastern does is that if it looks at the rest of your colleges and thin you’re applying to them as a safety then they might not accept. People with 4.0’s have gotten deferred. Even I got deferred so Chance me for RD too!
I live in Karachi, Pakistan

I had MUN from 10th to 11th and this year I’m ambassador for it.
I did lots of community service and raised money to send 50 children to school for a whole year, buying supplies and tuition and all, made a documentary about the school.
I made another film about the Pakistan Earthquake victims, two boys who both suffered from spinal cord injuries, one recovered one will not =(
I won a local news National Film Competition and placed 1st with a 4 minute documentary on the education of poor children. Created one other documentary for earthquake victims. I think I’m like one of the only Pakistani kids with a film on their resume.

Bad grades are probably what slowed me down =(
but fingers crossed that I get in, what do you think?

Thank you sooo much for the reply!!! I’m definitely not applying to NEU for safety, it’s my 1st or 2nd choice. But, how would NEU know what are the other schools I applied to?

Chances for you:
I think you got a great chance of getting in. Your GPA is probably the only weakness you have, but I guess you could explain it in your essay or something, Or it would probably balance out if your recommandations are good. I think the film you made will set you apart from all the other applicant and bump your chance of getting in…

Thanks, I already applied EA and got deferred, didn’t want to write an essay on why my grades aren’t good because the truth is I just never really applied myself =/ Hopefully Northeastern is only looking for another kid with my same profile rather then for my mid-year grades to be high, because I still got a 3.03. I think my recommendations were pretty good so I hope I’m in the clear and they except me in April. Good luck to you too! all the best and hopefully we both get in haha

Thanks badassbass016, your name reminds me of Chuck bass from gossip girl…anyway…I accidently sent in my SAT2 score for literature, which is super low, do you think that’ll effect my chances of getting in?

lzygiafas, I think you have a pretty good chance of getting in. Your gpa is higher than mine was, and I got in EA. Plus you’ve got lots of ec’s and idk, but I think Kentucky offers them some geographic diversity. What school are you applying to?

Thanks sjt… I want to major in business, but that major may be more difficult to get in, so I’m jst gonna apply as undeclared. Do you think that’s a good decision? btw, I would need financial aid if I do get in, so how do you think that’ll effect my chances?

I’d say you have a pretty good chance, I was accepted undeclared for business. I’m pretty sure Northeastern’s need blind, so financial aid shouldn’t affect your chances.

okay…Thank you! I posted a “chance me” thread in the chance me forum, and most people there think NEU is a reach for me…which is weird because people here all think I have a good chance. But, I trust you guys more!!
