<p>Sorry to be posting this but I'm truly curious. My girlfriend is a senior and will be attending Penn State in the fall, but I still have another year of HS and will be applying to SHC in the fall with hopes that I may follow her to school. I was hoping someone would chance me. thank you</p>

<p>SAT: M(790) CR(660) W(690) (first test, receiving second set of scores bak on the 23rd)</p>

<p>SAT 2: Chem (720), US History (730)</p>

<p>Class Rank: (6/438) (GPA 5.15)</p>

<p>ECs: Active member of church and youth group, Treasurer and 3 year member of FBLA, Student Body President (highest position in school), Class VP in my junior year, played baseball freshman and sophomore year, member of ambassadors and peer leadership</p>

<p>AP: (haven't received any scores yet took junior year) Chem, Lang & Comp, History
(taking senior year): Stats, Physics, Calc AB, Lit & Comp, Gov</p>

<p>Volunteer: Gone on mission trip last two summers to Williamsport, PA and repaired houses and what not, have worked soup kitchen at church many times, 150+ hours total</p>

<p>GPA is 5.15 on a scale of what? Is that weighted or unweighted?</p>

<p>Someone posted the other day that their school calculates GPA on a scale of 5.3. </p>

<p>So with some schools calculating GPA on arbitrary scales like that, it’s kind of hard to get a good feel.</p>

<p>sorry, that is a weighted GPA on a 5.5 scale (5.5 is A+ in honors or AP, 4.5 is A+ in college prep or B+ in honors/ap)</p>

<p>Wait for those SAT scores (would be good if they went up), gpa good. Good leadership and which makes for decent ECs. Maybe consider re-taking SAT IIs, but otherwise, you have decent shot.</p>

<p>How much higher do you think I need to bring my SATs up before I am a better candidate? And does SHC require SAT 2s? If not I will not send</p>

<p>They don’t look at any of your SAT/ACT scores. What they care most about is the essays you eventually will have to write and LOCs from teachers.</p>
