^Didn’t you read my reply? I said “I like your brutal honesty.” Which means I appreciated your comments. What I said was not mockery, but honest opinions from my experience. Correct me if I’m wrong, FBLA is basically bunch of multiple choice, and science olympiad is building things out of rubberbands and whatnot. I mean those are decent ec’s and good leaderships, but nothing special, if you will. I think you have really good chances, wish you best of luck!

You’re analysis is like saying that SAT is big joke because it is just multiple choice. And competitions like science olympiad (there are only a few events that actually require building) require a lot of studying to place top 3 (a lot of competition). The main reason I though you were mocking was because of your comment at the end “Well, there goes your hopes of getting compliments online…” and the fact that you said I’m gonna be rejected from HYPMC even though I’m not going to apply to those schools (cuz I know I don’t have good chances/don’t care about them).

I’m so jealous of your grades and sat, wow. The other things, as said, could be stronger though. But I think you’ll fare well in the admissions process. You only have to get into one great school, and I think you definitely will.

SAT indeed is the biggest joke there is. In fact, the whole US educational system is flawed. I prefer UK’s or even the French/ Chinese system. At least they are more staright forward and meritocratic. Do any of you realize that the whole “holistic” admissions started with a racist attempt to stop Jews from going to top colleges? Well, sadly thats still the case…

I think that you have stellar academics, but I’m a little concerned that you’re recs might only be “OK” … I know that Brown wants to see passion in your essays so try and make that come alive about whatever it is that you’re passionate about! And really emphasize that amazing internship! Best of luck!

Bump

So how did those AP scores turn out?

you should def be into cornell and wash u. your high targets would be penn and jhu and your low reaches would be brown and duke

chance me http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1226100-chance-me-upenn-seas-ed-will-chance-back.html

Does Siemens Competition Semifinalist change anything?

Wow. From a fellow student perspective, I’d say you have a very high shot with any of these schools. Obviously I don’t know what an admissions officer is thinking, but all of your ‘package’ seems more than adequate for a top school. I can only point out what other posters have said; paring down your activities to just the most important ones can actually strengthen your application as opposed to weighing it down. You’ve done well; let these activities shine!

Your app seems similar to mine. Awhile back, during the summer, you told me that HYPSMC were high reaches along with Penn and Columbia. My SAT score is around yours (30 points lower composite) but my subject tests were better. I had same array of activities. The only thing you have that could help you somewhat is your research. Using the very standards you used for me, I could see you getting into something like Penn CAS.

I think you’ll get into at least a couple of those considering your stats. Good luck!

Chance me back please?
