Thanks for the help!

BUMP, Thanks again

It might help folks if you let us know your residence state. Some of those schools will be easier to get it if you’re a resident of the state. For instance, if you don’t live in NC, UNC will definitely be very difficult for you to get into, with those stats. If you live in NC, your chances are better.

Sorry about that, I live in Ohio.

I think you need to improve your ACT score…or take the SAT and get a decent score…to have a good chance at the OOS schools on your list.

I don’t normally do chances, but I think your chances at UNC-CH and UMich are slim.

University of Toledo should be fine. OSU and Miami U…well, you are in state for those so I would guess them to be likely too.

Do you have any financial limitations? Those OOS public universities will cost you at least twice the cost of your instate U’s in Ohio.

UNC and Michigan are kind of dream/reach schools for me, and as for financial limitations I’m not that limited because my parents have a decent college fund set-up for me. And Toledo is my safety.

Have they told you how much is in that “decent college fund”, or have you shown them the prices of the various schools to make sure that they are ok with them?

I have seen the exact number on this fund, and I can say that its 40k+. My parents are not discouraged with me applying for oos colleges, even if it would cost more as long as its a good school where i can get a good education

$40,000 may pay for one year or less at some out-of-state public universities.

Time to have the money talk with your parents now, preferably in front of a web browser where you and they can look up the cost of attendance and net price calculator on each school’s web site.

bump, anymore opinions?
