Chance for U of M?

UW Gpa: approx 3.8
W Gpa:approx 3.9

ACT score : [will take this sept.9 can i get early action on this?]
[One i took 2 years ago was 28. Aiming for 33+ this ACT]
[Let's assume I get 33]

I haven't taken any AP til my Junior year which was AP psych, got 5.

This year[ senior year ] I transfered to new high school due to family business..
Although little mess up I did get AP physic/calc in
along with AC["honor class"] Humanities 2hours worth.

Community hours
I have about 10 hours from tutoring 7th graders.
20 hours from church volunteers.

I've been in student council but 1year of my high school year i had to forfeit being part of student council because I had to move schools

I've played Tennis but could only play for 1year of my high school year due to moving.

I've been part of Chess/Go club and Snowboarding Club.

I am in-state.

i’ve found a “college chance” forum and decided to post all my need for chance there.

You’re a match for U-M but not a slam dunk. Assuming ACT of 28. Sept 8 test scores will make it in time for EA.

What was your course rigor? I mean, that 3.8 is really good but your weighted GPA only ups it to a 3.9. Were honors/more AP courses not available or did you choose not to take them?

Your recs aren’t anything special but you are in state.

I think to get in you’ll need a high ACT

^ This would make a big difference if you decided not to take Honors/APs or you weren’t able to. Also I see that the 28 was from 2 years ago so does that mean sophomore year because then I don’t beleive it counts. So assuming you weren’t able to take Honors/APs and you get a 33 then I’d its a match school with an ok percentage because of ECs (which aren’t as important at state schools but still important). Good Luck!

33 you will def get in with a 28 its more of a reach but I still think you have a decent shot being instate

Thank you guys all!! it’s been a great help.
My schedule was messed up on freshman year from moving.
Afterwards it was just down hill, I couldnt take honors class because
“I didnt fulfill requisites from Freshman year”

Also couldnt take any APs because there is a set time in summer when you can test out of a math class [which i was confident in] so even after studying geometry and algebra I i had to take it in My freshman/sophomore year.
On my Junior year as much as I wanted to test out of FST, it covered too many aspects that teachers and peers was against it when i said I wanted to test out of it.

I did music all my years in high school and Spanish for first 2 years of my high school
Required class from Jenison consisted of PE1, PE2, Decisions, Gov ,Econ.
Which are 2.5 Semesters total.

My high school “career” was twisted at the begging when my family moved, so pretty much i didn’t have the chance…

I always strived for more challenge because high school was never too hard for me and I was never given that chance.

Now even when I’m taking 4 hours worth of advanced classes[AP/AC] and I still feel under challenged…
