The GPA is a little low, but you definitely have a chance, just not a guarantee. Consider applying to easier schools to make sure you at least get into a college, or go to CC for two years and transfer as a junior to a uni as a computer science major. That will save you a lot of money, and allow you to start over with a fresh GPA. From what I can tell, University of Cincinnati’s average GPA for admission is around a 3.4-3.5, and a little higher if you include AP’s. Your ACT score is pretty good at least :).
@michaelduffy39 Thank you for response, I appreciate the insight. EA applications begin August 1 and end December 1, would you recommend applying earlier (like August) or applying after my first quarter of my senior year (like October) to raise my GPA up a little bit?
If you can wait and raise your gpa, then definitely. I think it would be a good idea to google a college adviser in your area to get a better look at your options. He/she could give you concrete solid advice. College advisers are awesome. My college advisor that helped me got my friend into Harvard (I don’t have the gpa or test grades for Harvard, but they are great).
