Chance for UVA and NYU?

UVA is my Top Choice (In-State and Great School)...
I am thinking about NYU as an option for Out Of State. If I get in that is... :)

Race/Residency:
Asian/VA

GPA shows upward trend. (Freshmen Year Killed Me.)

Low number of AP's and Honors classes worries me.

Any Chances for JHU and Cornell? (I am applying... I understand it's a very high reach.)

Safety and Match College Applications have been already submitted.

UVA is probably a low reach, your SAT II scores are gonna hurt you quite a bit as they don’t match up with the rest of your app, but UVA is fairly holistic I believe

NYU is also probably a low reach to high match, depending on the school you apply to

Cornell and JHU are very unlikely, of course your chance is 0 if you don’t apply. You are of course more likely for JHU than Cornell ofc but both are high reaches

Which schools are considered competitve at NYU?

Cornell is basically a crapshoot. being azn + low SAT scores + relatively low GPA + low SAT II scores make you much less competitive than the other applicants. Your ECs aren’t very outstanding, so they won’t help you much either. Same goes for JHU; these two are top tier schools and even people with 4.5 gpas and 2400 will not be guaranteed admission.

NYU will also be a slight stretch, but you have a much better shot at it. Stern is the most competitive; a big stretch. It also depends on what major you choose at NYU.

I have no idea about UVA, so I’ll leave this at it.

I’m considering biology major. So I guess I have a fair shot at NYU?
