Chance for Wellesley 2020 EE!

Hi, I am a raising junior getting progressively more worried/anxious about college applications. Currently, I am thinking about applying to Wellesley EE. I have visited Wellesley, and I REALLY loved the college. I would love to get chances for Wellesley, but I would also like to hear other advice if you have it.

Stats:

School: Rigorous Highly Ranked Private School in Large City
GPA: (School doesn’t do traditional weighted) 4.05/4.0 (extra little bits for A+s) – one “B” in Calculus sophomore year, the rest As and A+
Class Rank: School does not rank, but top 5 (Cum Laude inductee)
ACT: 32 (R 35, E 34, S 30, M 29) 11 Essay --> single sitting
SAT: N/A
SAT 2: Math 1, 740
School does not offer AP/IB, instead all classes are at “Honors” level but took APUSH anyway, will get results next week hoping for 4/5 (felt good about it and my teacher seems confident I should do well)
Extracurriculars: Lit Mag Editor, Yearbook Editor, Class President, Model UN VP, Student Action Team President, Admissions Ambassador, 200 hours community service, Varsity Field Hockey, Spanish Club, Peer Tutor, Job at Catering Company
Creator of Food Blog with thousands of views (more of just a hobby though)
Languages: English, German, Arabic (semi interesting family background) and Italian and Spanish in school
Awards/ Recognitions: National Spanish Exam Bronze, School English Award/ Scholarship, Scholastic Art and Writing Awards- regional (20), Cum Laude, Publication of 4 poems (2 different magazines- regional publications)
Summers: Competitive Paid internship at Hospital, Arabic Classes, Service Trip to South America (Month), Writing Camp through Scholastic Competition
Common App Essay: Growing up Mennonite in a community with a distorted view of my religion and ethnic identity

So that is the jist of it… PLEASE COMMENT!
Thanks immensely!

Update : 5 in APUSH

Our D is an entering First Year in…48 days! I think you have good stats and good chances. Keep up your grades, make sure you select your recommendation letters wisely. Also, D did not do EE – just regular decision and is VERY glad she didn’t. She knew that a likely that turned into a denial would really upset her and vice versa had she received an unlikely and then got it in she felt that she would have emotionally already written them off.

Our D did not actually have any interest in women’s colleges when she began her search - but we visited W and she ended up applying to W and BMC (waitlisted). In hindsight she mentioned multiple times (while waiting for decisions) that she wished she had applied to more women’s colleges.

Good Luck!

I think you’ll get in! I agree with Debra to select your recommendation letters wisely. Also, make sure you interview and spend extra time on your Wellesley-specific essay. The topic seems to stay the same from year to year so you can start thinking about it now, let it marinate and mature. If financial aid is not important to you, apply ED for best chances. My D applied regular decision and wished she’d applied EE because it was tough to wait when so many already knew if they were likely in or out.

Thank you so much @DebraOfUSVI and @redpoodles ! I picked great teachers for my recs! One is the woman who gave a speech on me for my cum laude induction so I know she has great things to say!

I must disagree with the poster who said that EE was nerve-wracking. A likely almost never turns into a denial (basically, you have to flunk, cheat, or rob a liquor store). Knowing that you are a likely can take a lot of pressure off when so many of your peers will already know for sure where they are headed because they applied ED. If you are serious about W, apply ED if it’s your first choice, but don’t hesitate to apply EE if it’s not. That “likely” really helped my daughter get through a tough senior year!

Thank you @Massmomm ! I am visiting Wellesley again in August and will decide then if I will apply ED or EE.
