Wow, man. your academics, first of all, is a kicker. It is solid enough for any colleges in the universe. Yet, thinking that you are an asian (I am too!) and applying to top schools, it may be hard to tell, but you just have a very good application with a cohesive theme of journalism.

Harvard: Reach for everyone, but I say it is maybe easier for you to get in than others
Princeton: Same as Harvard
Yale: Same as Harvard
Stanford: lower reach
MIT: Reach… Does MIT have strong journalism program?
Penn: High Match
Columbia: lower reach
JHU: lower match/ IN
Northwestern: lower match/ IN

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/880286-chance-me-please-i-will-chance-back.html

Thank you for replying.

Wow I agree; your stats are completely amazing! When it comes to their academic profile, most people are strong but they still have their weakness/bad areas… I can’t see any of those in your record, because you have straight 5s in your APs, high test scores, and lots of academic awards. You also have nice ECs. I think you have a very good shot at all of these schools. The fact that you are a legacy at Penn will also definitely help. I’d say you’re in to Penn, JHU, Northwestern for sure. You also have a good chance at Columbia, which is probably a high match. I don’t know much about MIT’s journalism program, because it is mainly known for technical/quantitative things… And for HYPS I feel like you have a better shot than most people, although of course, they are always unpredictable.

Good Luck! :)

Wow your academics are some of the strongest I’ve seen. Your EC’s aren’t incredible but they are still very good, and I think they can even cut it at the schools you’re applying to.

Harvard - reach for everyone, but I wouldn’t be surprised if you got in
Princeton - same as Harvard
Yale - same
Stanford - same
MIT - same
Penn - match
Columbia - match
JHU - match
Northwestern - I’d be very surprised if you didn’t get in

Even though HYPSM is still a reach for you, I think you will probably get into at least one of them.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/880243-ivy-chances.html

You don’t think my ECs are incredible… as in my focus in journalism doesn’t stand out?

Not for HYPSM. Don’t get me wrong, they are very good, but they don’t blow me out of the water. You might be interested in this http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/210497-those-ecs-weak-so-whats-good.html.

i think your ECs are good! initially it was hard for me to see your passions since you just seemed perfect but after reading i could see your interests in journalism and spanish. try to make it kind of clear that you arent just trying to be perfect youre genually interested in your ECs and i think youll get into most of the schools on your list. regardless you have a good chance (better at some than others) at all of your schools. good luck!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/880224-chances-right-track.html

Editor-in -chiefs in 2 years shows your passion and your leadership. As you know editor-in-chief of newspaper is only one person in any school, which the liberal art schools such as HYSPC like most. Moreover, admission officers can not easily find an applicant of asian american, who is an editor-in-chief. And your ECs are well balanced with your national achievement. You’re in Stanford, Columbia and Upenn. As far as I know, there is no priority of legacy in Penn RD. Have a good luck.

Harvard,Princeton,Yale,Stanford,MIT – well… these schools are… reach for everyone…
but you have good grade/scores/EC’s so
Penn,Columbia,JHU,Northwestern - low/mid match at most.

But for even the Harvard, princeton…etc schools, you should have a pretty good chance… i’d say around low/mid reach? Just dont screw up on anything, and you should be fine.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/879829-chance-junior-please.html

Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Stanford, MIT = reach for everyone, but you should get into one

Penn / Columbia -high match

JHU - match

Northwestern - innnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Great chances everywhere. Chance me at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/879184-chance.html

Thanks for the posts. What do you guys think is my biggest weakness?

First of all your ****ing amazing

Harvard…all you need is a little lluck you def met the reqs.
Princeton…"
Yale…"
Stanford…low reach you sohuld get in if you write a good essay
MIT…in
Penn…in
Columbia…they are tricky sometime but i would say in :0
JH…in safety
Northwestern…safety you lucky ■■■■■■■.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/881656-chance-me-new-york-university-northwestern-university.html#post1064322757

I think that’s a little bit of an overstatement, but thanks!

Hyps- reach for everyone, your chances are as good as anyones
MIT-same, odd choice for journalism?
Rest-match
amazing application!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/857370-accepted-bc-what-about-rest-5.html

Everything looks very good

Harvard- Reach (I have to agree with the others its a chance for everyone)
Princeton- Mid-reach
Yale- Reach
Stanford- Reach
MIT- Mid reach to high fit
Penn- fit
Columbia- high fit to mid reach
JHU- in
Northwestern- easily in

chance me please

HYPSM - Reach for EVERYONE. I’d even take a gander to call them a MID reach for you, since your stat’s are so good.

Penn - Low reach/high match
Columbia - Probably in
JHU - In
Northwestern - In

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/883226-chance-meek-young-hopeful-will-chance-back.html

I’d honestly choose Princeton over all of them. Could someone be a little more specific about my chances at Princeton… instead of coupling it with HYSM and saying it’s a reach? I understand it is… but anything a little bit more detailed would be splendid!

You’re definitely very competitive at all your schools, especially the ones that are reaches for everyone. Definitely ‘in’ at Northwestern and JHU.

Good luck!
