I'm a bit nervous as I'm very unfamiliar with the US system and I'm the only person from my school applying abroad. :/ any word would be really appreciated, even if it doesn't change anything as I've already applied

Do you need aid?

Overall, I think you have a good shot. Those GCSE’s are impressive (can’t believe you took 11!) and those predicted are good too - I assume you’re writing now so good luck for those  The SAT might be a little low but 1360/1400 is reasonable for CAS. The good thing is that the subjects you’ve taken reflect your intention to pursue an English major.

Good luck! And my advice would be to not get discouraged looking at chance threads on CC because most of the people on here are over-achievers; it will only give you a distorted picture of what good grades are.

No, I’m not applying for any financial aid.
Thank you for the response, and yeah I was getting a bit worried looking at the threads on this website haha.

*980 community service hours

yeah, I actually counted, a lot more than I originally thought, obviously.

Also, I thought NYU was need blind anyways for intenational students…

[International Applicants](<a href=“How to Apply”>How to Apply)

It says “Because of the very limited amount of financial aid available for international students, our general expectation is that international students must be able to provide the entire cost of their education through their own resources.” Applying for aid as an international could definitely affect you, but not detrimentally. Anyway, you’re not applying for aid; and your scores, grades and EC’s are all great. I don’t foresee you being rejected especially as an ED applicant. Good luck!

Good luck to you too :)

1300/1600 is on the low end for CAS but not completely out of the picture. Grades and ECs are solid. High match-low reach ED in my opinion.

cheers, so i’m guessing that the writing score is pretty much ignored by most universities then?

Not most, but quite a lot of them do ignore it (or at least don’t weight it as heavily)
