NYU CAS with these SATs?

(Superscored)
CR 570
M 640
W 800
total= 2010 (not superscored= 1960, minus 50 on W section)

French 790
Spanish 640

Applying ED2.
International student, good grades and taking A-levels, lots of ECs and volunteering.
Good essays and recs I think.....

What are my chances? is my CR too low or could my high W score and high French make up for it?

thanks!

Can you afford to pay for NYU?

They really don’t offer much financial aid at all, especially for international students.

They may just reject you if your parents don’t have enough money according to the FAFSA, but even if accepted, will the 55k/year be feasible?

Yes thanks, but I know internationals do not get any aid- but I’m asking about my chances please?

I think if you are really a full pay, then you will have a decent shot, especially if the rest of your app is as good as you say it is.

OK thanks!

Also, is it worth retaking for the December SAT to improve my reading? I am already sending 2 sets of scores- will sending 3 look bad?
I mean considering my combined M + CR are 1210 which is low for NYU??

The math/CR is low for NYU and you may want to consider a retake because your SAT IIs are of little use for NYU. You meet NYUs test requirement by one of four different ways (you choose which one to follow), submit: (a) SAT, or (b) ACT, or (c) three SAT subject tests, or (d) three APs. If you choose the three SAT subject tests option, one must be a literature or humanities test, one must be a math or science, and the third can be your choice. You have only two subject tests and none in the two required categories.

800W and 570 as your highest CR is strange.

So I should retake? Will sending 3 sets of scores put me at a disadvantage??

Drusba- I’m not looking to replace the SAT1 with SAT2s but was asking if they could make up for the low CR.

How many times have you taken the SAT? 3 is generally the most one should do. If you’ve taken it twice, then it may be a good idea to take it again and focus hard on reading and math. That math score is also very low for NYU.

I meant that since you do so well on the writing section, it is strange that you do so poorly on the reading section.

I just got December scores of 630 in reading, 660 in math, but down to 640 in writing so will send the other set of scores to show the 800!

how do I look for NYU CAS applying ED2?

please…?

anyone…?

It’s possible you could be LSPed rather than accepted into CAS.
Here’s the program website.

[Liberal Studies: The Core Program](http://core.ls.nyu.edu/page/home)

In past years, international students have usually been offered spots for freshman year in LSP in international locations: London, Paris, Florence, and Shanghai).

From your other thread, you have a good shot at all except BC.

I know a guy who got in with a 1700, NYU CAS does not require a lot.

thank-you! i’m rather nervous now… decisions for ED2 are less than 2 weeks away!!
