I am a rising junior at a public school in Fairfax Country, Va (NoVa), and I just wanted to gauge where I am through sophomore year, and what I need to do next year and senior year. I'm SERIOUSLY looking at UVa, and it is also my dream school and I love it there, but I'm also interested in schools like Northwestern, Tufts, and some Ivies like Princeton, Harvard and UPenn. I'm looking to major in something on the Economics/Social Sciences Side. I know I have a ways to go and a lot can change, but I just want to know where I am.

So here's my resume:

Journalism 2- (class required to write for the school newspaper)

Tests-
SAT World History- 680 (Not sure if this hurts me)
On a practice SAT I I got a 1400 CR+M/2150 (But these will definitely go up)

My GPA so far UW-3.62/W-3.94

EC's
Successful time in Model UN

Schools I'm looking at

Princeton
UPenn

U Michigan

So I'm wondering how much does Freshman Year hurt me, does my upward trend in Sophomore year help, and do I even have a chance at Ivies in the first place? And what do I need to do in my remaining years to solidify my chances at UVa and other schools like Northwestern? What other schools should into?

Feel free to give any advice, share thoughts
Thanks!!
