Hi! I've been lurking on this board forever, and I've finally gotten around to posting a chances thread! I'm applying for sophomore year at Andover, Choate, Concord, Exeter, and Milton. So, here it goes!

SSATs:
800 verbal (99%)
800 math (99%)
728 reading (92%)
2328 overall (99%)

Grades:
- As in most courses
- A+ in science
- A-s in PE, French IV (near-fluent level), and English

I attend an international school; I have to say that it is quite difficult! I have to work hard, but I love the challenge. Science is my favorite subject. I am also passionate about math.

Courses:
I'm currently in advanced higher level maths and French IV. The rest of my courses are at a standard level. My school only offers advanced courses in math and foreign languages. My higher level maths course consists of accelerated IGCSE work (algebra 2, geometry, trigonometry, vectors, and matrices).

ECs:
- Varsity cross country for one year (traveling team)
- AMIS (The Association of Music in International Schools) Honor Choir for two years (traveling group)
- Backstage crew member in school drama productions for two years (held the position of assistant director)
- MUN for one year (traveling group)
- Mathcounts for two years
- KIK (Kids in the Kommunity, a community service club that helps local orphanages) for two years (vice president)
- Peer Helpers (student advice group) for two years
- Girl Scouts (I was a member of a troop that focused on community service) for five years.

Community service is extremely important to me. Through being in KIK, Peer Helpers, and Girl Scouts, I have been exposed to so many inspirations. These range from the leaders of other charity organizations to the orphans I spend time with. Each person has a fascinating story, and I love to learn from them. I also think that nothing is more rewarding than helping others.

Interviews:
I had fun talking to my interviewers, I hope they had the same feelings about me!

Essays and Short Answers:
I tried to embody who I am as best as possible, I hope I did well doing so!

I actually quite dislike the concept of a chances thread - in one, a person only posts basic information about themselves. It's hard to flesh your personality out through a simple post like this. I really don't want to seem like a robot or a troll; I'm a real girl, and I want to come across like one. So, some quick odd facts about me:
- I can be extremely random - think random outbursts about keyboard cat (for the win!).
- I dress rather ostentatiously (I like big hairbows! DON'T FORGET TURTLES!)
- I love to read books like Franz Kafka's "Metamorphosis" - yes, it's a book about a man gone cockroach, but it is poignant and has a profound message in it.
- I have a cat named "Kitty", she's fat (14 pounds) and I love her!

I guess that's it! This still isn't a complete picture of who I am, but I hope it will suffice. Thanks for reading this! Your virtual cookie reward will arrive shortly in your mind. VISUALIZE CHOCOLATE CHIPS WITH PECANS!

P.S. If you're an infoMania fan, you get extra sprinkles!

What about nationality?

You seem kind of perky, but I like you.

I don’t know much about the BS process but you seem like an impressive applicant.

I’m Asian-American.

I usually don’t say this (Not that my approval is anything important, it’s just that I rarely chance) but I have some gut feeling you will get in. Don’t ask me why and take it with a grain of salt.

Best of luck.

You have excellent grades, scores, and activities. It is always a bit harder to get in as a sophmore, but I would be surprised if you didn’t get in to most of those schools.

Thanks for your comments, everyone! Good luck to all of you too. :)
