- John Hopkins

Medium:
- RPI
- Boston University
- Northeastern

Safety:
- UMass Amherst
- UMass Dartmouth
- WPI

Afraid Awards will kill me =[

Hard:

  • Cornell mid reach
  • Columbia high reach
  • Franklin W. Olin mid reach
  • John Hopkins high reach

Medium:

  • RPI low reach
  • Boston University in
  • Northeastern in

Safety:

  • UMass Amherst in
  • UMass Dartmouth in
  • WPI in

I’m guessing you’d want to try to up the CR score. For the top ones, you’d probably want 2100+ SATs. Good luck!

I think without improving that CR score the “hard” schools are all pretty big reaches.

Personally, I think you have an impressive list of extracurriculars.

Hard:

  • Cornell-Mid Reach(Don’t get me wrong you have a good chance, and you’re definitely qualified. )
  • Columbia-Reach(Columbia’s a reach for everyone)
  • Franklin W. Olin (Low Reach-Probably in)
  • John Hopkins( Low reach-Probably in)

Medium:

  • RPI-Match
  • Boston University-Match
  • Northeastern-Match

Safety:

  • UMass Amherst-I think you’re in.
  • UMass Dartmouth-Probably in.
  • WPI-I think you’re in.

You only have to worry about the first hard schools you listed but everyone does. There are sooooo many smart and qualified people who apply there. I do not work for admissions, but I think that you have an awesome profile and that you definitely have a shot at every school you apply to.

Good luck!

~ Theos

Thank you very much!

Cornell reach

Columbia high reach

Franklin W. Olin high reach

John Hopkins reach

Medium:

  • RPI match
  • Boston University match
  • Northeastern safety

Safety:

  • UMass Amherst safety- UMass Dartmouth safety
  • WPI safety

Is Olin the one that’s free if you get in? If so, I think that’s probably a big reach for everybody these days!

Yeah it is =[

Hard:

  • Cornell-Mid R
  • Columbia-R
  • Franklin W. Olin- Low Reach
  • John Hopkins- Low/Mid R

Medium:

  • RPI-In
  • Boston University-In
  • Northeastern-In

Safety: Well they’re safeties right? Do you need me to say anything?

  • UMass Amherst
  • UMass Dartmouth
  • WPI

To be honest, I think even though some colleges on your list are reaches, I think that your “Mid” colleges, I’m pretty sure you’ll get in all of them. I think that you should look at other schools which are a little more competitive that would match you.

Chance me back!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/666949-chance-me-i-just-got-back-college-visiting-vacation-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

Pretty much listen to what everyone else said. worry about the hard ones, especially columbia and franklin, possiblyyyy cornell. Your race is unique, don’t meet too many Vietnamese people…and that’s a pretty nice hook you’ve got too.

What is your top choice? Whatever it is best of luck :)

Can you chance me back pleaaseee?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/661484-chance-deferred-kid-ill-try-chance-back.html</a></p>

bump… bump

bump 10chars.

Valdictorians with 2400s get rejected from olin (no exaggeration look at there sub forum!!!)

It is really hard, many people get into MIT and Caltech but not Olin. It has the highest average test scores in the nation (or at least top 5, can’t remember to be exact)

It is a really big reach.

Franklin W. Olin is extremely hard to get into. Cornell is a slight reach and Columbia is a slight to mid reach. Hopkins is the same as Cornall and Columbia. You are in at the others.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/666194-help-brotha-out-his-chances-please.html</a></p>

hey fufufishie

my best bet is if you manage to bump up those SAT 1’s you would definitely have a chance at many of your colleges even the “Hard” ones except maybe Columbia(cant really say in or not in any of these bcos the admission tend to be arbitrary). There’s a long list of ECs but they don’t look too outstanding (criticism, no offense meant), if you were just a member of a club it might not be a good idea to include that in your application it tends to make you very dull and trite. my scores look very much like yours, chance back please?

Hard:

  • Cornell highmid reach
  • Columbia high reach
  • Franklin W. Olin highmid reach
  • John Hopkins mid reach

Medium:

  • RPI in
  • Boston University in
  • Northeastern in

Safety:

  • UMass Amherst in
  • UMass Dartmouth in
  • WPI in

Your rank is outstanding and being a 1st gen will help. Your ECs are good (though they kind of seem like a laundry list). Your scores will hurt a little but you seem to have a good amount of other positives to make up for it.

Hard:

  • Cornell-Reach
  • Columbia-High Reach
  • Franklin W. Olin-Reach
  • John Hopkins-Low Reach

Medium:

  • RPI- Match
  • Boston University- Match
  • Northeastern- Low Match

Safety:

  • UMass Amherst-IN
  • UMass Dartmouth-IN
  • WPI-IN
    Good Luck with the process!

Chance me back please.
