I spoke to the swim coach at bowdoin and he said im “on his list” will that help me???
Thanks again and let me know if i can help you

GPA? Weighted and unweighted? Class rank? At most top LACs, this is probably the most important factor.

And Bowdoin is a great choice for someone with your interests. I’m sure you know about the marine studies center on the coast, about 15 minutes from the campus. Very cool, if you are into marine bio, oceanography, etc…

No grades? what does your school send as a transcript? I see that you’re very interested in marine science but having no grades might be sort of a problem for the adcom to accurately gauge your academic perfomance although you have very nice SAT and SAT II scores and your courseload seems to be very rigorous so I would say that you have a good chance! I also applied ED so I hope that we’ll both be able to attend!

my school is extremely weird and different. We get written evals at the end of each semester and those are sent the adcom is used to applicants from my school.
Thanks! Maybe we’ll be friends next year!

If you’re “on the the coach’s list,” that should help as that means he’s provided the admissions department with a formal indication of his interest in a favorable decision on your application . . .Good luck!!!

without grades, it’s really hard to chance you and i don’t really think anyone could really give you a fair evaluation without an idea of how you do academically in school–are your evaluations generally glowing and entirely positive? or mostly positive? it’s tricky…how consistently strong are you as a student? what are your strengths &weaknesses for these usually? what kind of student you are (active participant, intellectually curious, smart but uninterested, lazy) could definitely be a major factor for you
as for your sats, they might end up being more important for you than most people just because it gives admissions something more concrete to determine where you stand in the pool. the 610 won’t be a deal breaker, but it won’t help,

you’re ECs seem pretty strong, especially with swimming in the mix–the coach is supporting you in admissions-great! no guarantee, but that will definitely help you out. it also means you are within range academically to have a chance at being accepted

i don’t want to say “overall, i think…” because the main factor is your hs academics, and i don’t know about that…otherwise, I think you are a strong applicant, but not perfect. Nothing is going to knock you out of the admissions pool, but then again, there isn’t much that makes you really stand out–except swimming, which definitely will count for something
it all depends on how they interpret your evaluations
