Also, in my sophomore year I had some serious parental issues involving my biological father and my family here. I also suffered from an eating disorder and bullying at school. All in all to put it simply, I had a mental and physical breakdown that year, hence the bad gpa. Please chance me! Any and all advice appreciated!

I’m from California so I can really only speak for the UCs there. But I think you have a pretty good chance at a lot of them! UCI/UCD/UCSB and everything under that is likely a match for you. Your GPA is a little low, but you have a good reason for it so as long as you explain what happened in your essays, it should be fine. I love your ECs, just keep them up! ^_^

Work on raising the SAT a little bit or try the ACT. I think you should also work on your GPA and be sure to explain your personal struggles on your application! I think your chances are higher at a public state u because they are less competitive. I would consider Rice and Duke reaches as of right now.

U have a match for all the UC (i can assume you are from in state?) since your SAT is ~75% . Your GPA is low but you can write an essay about your struggles and im sure it wont hurt you that much in the end–NET GAIN. Your extra curriculars are solid (nothing spectacular), see if there is one in particular that can make u stand out.
if you apply ED to Barnard, i think you have a close match/low reach.

chance back?!
