Chance me and I'll give you cookies :P

I'm applying to Brandeis, Harvard, Columbia and UVA - if you could chance me I would appreciate it so much (and I'd give you cookies...)

I live in the UK, but grades are grades, right?!
I'm a senior now, but we take our main exams in sophomore, junior and senior years.

Sophomore year grades: 8 x A+, 2 x A
Junior year grades: 3 x A+, 2 x A
Senior year predicted grades: 2 x A+, 1 x A

SAT scores:

Reading 710
Math 650 (but I've not done math at school for 3 years - they should take that into account, right?!)
Writing 770

Biology M 710
French 670
Literature 740

No class rank available.

Extra-curriculars:
Theatre 9/10/11/12 (acting, directing, stage managing - a lot of stuff)
Sports 11/12
Music 9/10/11/12 (clarinet in Wind Band, Klezmer Ensemble, Show Band)
Debate 9/10/11/12 (including Oxford and Cambridge competitions)
Newspaper 11/12
Volunteering in charity shop 10/11

Job:
The British Museum, 40 hrs a week in school holidays

Recommendations:
Probably pretty stellar, if the ones sent to my English unis are anything to go by.

Essays:
Long essay about being vegetarian, linked to my love of biology.
Additional essay to Harvard about being dual-nationality
Slight problem(?) - I didn't know the 150 word "elaborate on your activities" question was meant to be an essay too, so it's not particularly beautifully written, though it does talk about feelings etc...
I'm a good writer, although my essays are not...well, I didn't write in detail about a particular moment, or feeling - it's more factual, telling what I think, but with nice writing!

I'm a white female, and my mom went to Harvard, if that will help at all?! Also, I want to major in either drama or behavioural science or possibly zoology.

P.S. Cookies are made of your imagination.

Brandeis - Match
Harvard - High Reach (Legacy might help)
Columbia - High Reach
UVA - Low Reach

Best of Luck!

I don’t understand what you’ve said about your classes. Did you only take three classes senior year? How many English classes have you taken in high school? How many math classes? Science, language, history? What’s the highest level you’ve reached in each subject area? Colleges will want to see that you’ve challenged yourself in each academic area throughout your high school career.

we only take 4 classes junior year and 3 classes senior year - that’s all you CAN take, timetable-wise.

i took english for 5 years, math for 5 years, biology for 7 years, chem for 5 years, physics for 5 years, french for 7 years, history for 6 years, drama for 7 years, classical greek for 2 years, woodshop for 5 years.

biology, french and drama i am currently studying the highest level possible.
history and greek i studied to just under the highest level possible.

Brandies: In
Harvard :reach
Columbia: reach
UVA: Mid reach.
Best of luck

Now give me the cookies!!! :)

Thanks.

Anyone else?!

Brandies: match
Harvard : reach (it is for everyone)
Columbia: reach
UVA: low match

im not sure how much these schools understand about the british system, but they should be sympathetic about the math sat score. i was born in england and moved to america after year 2 of primary school, its nice to see another brit on the forums :)

thanks  (nice to meet you!)

Anyone else??

harvard, columbia-not a chance. enjoy your rejection

brandeis-maybe

aim lower, your SAT scores are good, but not what a top school is looking for

harvard and columbia are a reach
but the other two you should be good for
goodluck:)
chance me please thanks
