I’m hoping to apply to Dartmouth ED and other ivies like Cornell and UPenn for Physics. Problem is that I live in the UK, need financial aid, and I’m an Indian male (ORM). What are my chances given the following stats? Be brutally honest, I would really appreciate some advice, and brutal honesty. Cheers.
ACT - 34
Sat Math II - 800
Sat Physics - 800
School Grades:
Maths - A
Further Maths - A
Physics - A
Chemistry -A
I think my gpa is somewhere around 3.8 to 4, although I’m not entirely sure how to convert my grades accurately.
ECs.
British Maths Olympiad every year from grades 6-11, revived Gold.
British Physics Olympiad grades 10 and 11, received Silver
Play Badminton for my county (basically a mini state) and have won many regional tournaments
Maths and Chemistry mentor for kids at school
Volunteer at a local primary school
School Prefect (act as an assistant librarian, show parents around the school and do assemblies)
Work as an assistant Badminton coach
Duke of Edinburgh Award (Hiking and Scouts related stuff)
Going to do a 3 week work experience placement in India over the summer (maybe a 3rd world country will look good idk)
Teacher recommendations will not make me seem like the next Einstein, Theyll be average. I go to a very competitive school, so in it I’m definitely not the best student in the class.
I think I can make my personal statements and supplements original and interesting.
My ECs aren’t amazing. Bearing in mind all my other disadvantages, is there any real point of applying? Just say no if you don’t think so, I want the honest truth. Sorry for the long post
