CHANCE ME as International Student applying to BS

International Student (China - very competitive pool)
Female
Goes to an IB boarding school
No FA needed
Bilingual in Chinese and English. Learning German.

Applying 10 to 10 boarding
I applied last year and the year before, but mostly all decisions were waitlists.

Schools this year:
Dream: Exeter, Deerfield, St. Paul’s, Milton
Reach: Peddie, Webb cali, St. Mark’s, St. George’s, Mercersburg, Hill
Safeties: Pennington, Berkshire (perhaps add Williston and tabor if I can interview with them)
Looking for strong and challenging academic programs; hopefully schools that have great writing, music and volleyball programs.

GPA: School doesn’t have a GPA and since we are an IB school, our grades are from 1-7. For Grades 7, 8, and 9 I’ve gotten 2-3 6s each year but other than that everything else is 7. (Apparently, I think if you convert that into letter grades, 7 would be A+ and 6 would be A/A-)
SSAT:2367 (99%)
TOEFL: 112 (Took in 8th grade, already expired)
Essays: High quality, working progress
Interviews: Interviewed most already - I would say they were pretty good in general
Vericant (Pre-interview for Chinese students): 5.7 out of 6

What are my chances? Thank you!!!

Same as previous years if not less since there are fewer spots for grade 10.

Fewer spots, yes, but also fewer applicants for grade 10.

“Fluffy,” you seem like a very strong applicant with wonderful qualifications and a high level of maturity. I am just a boarding school parent and not an admissions officer of any kind, but I think you have very good chances for your “Reach” and “Safety” schools, with the following caveat:

If your Reaches and Safeties believe you would much rather be at one of your “Dream” schools than at their particular school, they may reject or waitlist because they may believe the chances of you actually matriculating will be very low. In boarding school, as in human relationships, nobody really likes being a second, third or lower choice!

You look like a great candidate. What many people may not know is that admissions can be especially challenging for Chinese students because there are do many excellent applicants and most BS, to have diversity, need to limit that the # of foreign students and have a mix of countries they come from. Are you working with a consultant in China? They can probably give you your best odds. If you want to continue with IB, you might consider George.
