International Student (China - very competitive pool)
Female
Goes to an IB boarding school
No FA needed
Bilingual in Chinese and English. Learning German.
Applying 10 to 10 boarding
I applied last year and the year before, but mostly all decisions were waitlists.
Schools this year:
Dream: Exeter, Deerfield, St. Paul’s, Milton
Reach: Peddie, Webb cali, St. Mark’s, St. George’s, Mercersburg, Hill
Safeties: Pennington, Berkshire (perhaps add Williston and tabor if I can interview with them)
Looking for strong and challenging academic programs; hopefully schools that have great writing, music and volleyball programs.
GPA: School doesn’t have a GPA and since we are an IB school, our grades are from 1-7. For Grades 7, 8, and 9 I’ve gotten 2-3 6s each year but other than that everything else is 7. (Apparently, I think if you convert that into letter grades, 7 would be A+ and 6 would be A/A-)
SSAT:2367 (99%)
TOEFL: 112 (Took in 8th grade, already expired)
Essays: High quality, working progress
Interviews: Interviewed most already - I would say they were pretty good in general
Vericant (Pre-interview for Chinese students): 5.7 out of 6
