Thats all :) Let me know what you think! All constructive criticism is accepted! Thanks so much!

bumppp? please

Everything looks good.

Everything looks amazing! Keep it up. I would tell you to raise your SATs, but really, you are a solid applicant.

What does Multiracial? Black/White? White/Asian? It affects your chances.

^ White/Asian

Yes, a higher SAT score would be of some benefit; but even as you are, you are looking solid.

Yes, I am half Caucasian and half Asian. I actually have already taken the SAT twice, so I am shifting my focus to the ACT. I am re-taking it during the next school year; I hope that isn’t too late. I had no preparation before going in to take it the first time, so hopefully, the next time will be better.

Thanks! :)

whoops! *it isn’t

I’d say you should be a reasonable candidate anywhere.
How did your SAT I breakdown? Did you get at least 700 on all three sections?

No, it was not that even. Math: 770, Critical Reading: 690, Writing: 690.
If my ACT improves, I will report that instead of my SAT.

You might want to try the SAT one more time.
Getting 700 on all three parts is pretty key, and you were ever so close.

Okay! Thanks for the advice. Anyone else have any opinions?

If you can’t get in to at least a few of these schools, I don’t know who can.

Are you getting recruited by any colleges?

@peggy- Thanks:)

@geekorathletic- haha nice username. I did visit Princeton and Yale’s swim team to converse legally during winter break, but no formal recruitment yet. I have gotten recruitment letters from some lesser schools, but also from UPenn, Kenyon, MIT, Wellesley, Emory, and Williams. None from Harvard. “BUT I just recently sustained a pretty bad injury. I am not physically capable to swim at the same intensity as before.” I dont train as much and am definitely not as fast as I used to be. The recruitments probably were based on my past stats. So no, probably no recruitments now.

Yeouch. That sucks. Getting recruited would’ve almost guaranteed admissions to a lot of places. Is there any shot at recovering and getting back to where you used to be?

Yea. I’m not sure. It is pretty much there forever- it is fractures in my spine. But I have begun to move away from pool swimming and more towards open water swimming, or swimming in the ocean. It is a bit easier on my back. I am getting pretty good at it, but there are no collegiate open water teams. I am not so disappointed though, with all my time off, I have really gotten a chance to devote a lot of my life to volunteering.

I would expect your stats to be fine if you’re an athletic recruit. For college admissions purposes I’d drop the multi racial in favor of white.

Why white instead of multiracial?

Because statistically, Asian students have the lowest admit rates at top colleges. Without being a recruit, try some top schools but have a solid group under there, especially with below mid 700s in any SAT area.

I understand, but I would not be putting Asian down. I would put down other or multicultural. And my guidance counselor showed me my school file and I was listed as “multicultural- may be African American/Caucasian”. Interesting… haha
