The freshman profile for UP suggests you are on the low end for SAT (below 25th percentile). The unweighted GPa for the middle 50% falls between 3.55 and 3.97. Since you didn’t provide your unweighted GPA, it’s difficult to say. My gut is that you will either be accepted for summer or sent to a branch campus for two years. Students whose stats are below that 25th percentile likely fall into one of the following categories: recruited athlete, URM/major hook, faculty/staff kids, etc. It doesn’t mean it can’t happen, though. Good luck!
Yeah it’s weird because naviance from our school which doesn’t have a lot of data because our school is new shows a lot of 1100’s being accepted with gpa’s between a 3.6-3.8.
Retake the SAT.
Any chance you can take physics honors, AP physics 1, or dual enrollment algebra-based physics? Not having it for such a major is a huge red flag.
Atmospheric science is a very competitive major.
My guess is that you should check “summer session” right away, and indicate in the SRAR you plan on taking physics in the Spring.
I really cannot retake the SAT our school only offers AP Physics, Conceptual(basically academic) and Physics (in the middle). You need to take reg Physics before you can take AP. I know PsU won’t recognize that but…
So, can you take Physics (“in the middle”) this year? If not, can you take dual enrollment physics at a local CC?
It’s really too bad you can’t retake the SAT, a 650+ math score would certainly help you.
