Chance me for Penn State and Colorado Boulder?

Hi I’m applying today out of state to both schools and I’m really worried about my low gpa. 3.01 weighted with a lot of C’s freshman and sophomore year. However, scored a 1920 on the old SAT out of 2400 and a 5 on AP english lit, 17 honors/AP courses throughout high school. Essay is good. EC’s:

Cross Country 9, 10, 11, 12 Captain
Track and Field 9, 10, 11, 12 Captain
DECA 11, 12 Vice President of Finance, State Finalist, helped found school’s inaugural DECA chapter
Pep Band 9, 10, 11, 12

Middle School Track Assistant 9, 10, 11, 12
worked for a minor league baseball team summers after 7th, 8th, and 9th grade

20 Day Leadership Backpacking trip over the summer Attained Wilderness First Aid and CPR certification

Also checked yes for optional summer semester at Penn State.
Please chance me? Much appreciated and good luck to all.

I do not think Penn State’s main campus is a realistic reach for you, and paying OOS tuition for a branch might not be worth it.

What major did you apply for at Penn State? And what is your unweighted GPA? A 3.01 GPA will almost certainly get you an offer at a branch campus at PSU, not the UP campus. The middle 50% for GPA for UP campus begins at 3.55. Your GPA is far below that. You do have SAT scores within the middle 50%. Your only chance for UP, in my opinion, is to apply undecided and optional summer at UP. It is likely, however, that you will get offered a branch campus. So hope for the best, but be prepared for that. Penn State is a numbers game. They barely pay attention to anything other than GPA and test scores. Also, being out of state, be aware that the costs are very high and PSU gives almost no merit aid.

I know this was depressing, but better to be prepared. The PSU branch campuses are also very good and the majority of PSU graduates start at a branch for 2 years.

Applied for philosophy with an unweighted of 2.7. However, did not select a backup branch campus, just the optional summer program because I’m really looking for a big school rather than a smaller branch campus. I appreciate your feedback!

Yeah I wouldn’t do branch, it’s UP or bust

Then I don’t think you’re getting in.
