Hello! :)

3.97 GPA (unweighted. I don't think my school does weighted GPAs...).

I took the SAT without studying and got an 1800, I'm taking it again in October and actually studying this time so I think I'll do much better, hahaha. I took the PSAT and it said my projected score was 2000-2100 so I'm hoping to get more in that range.

I have a ton of volunteer hours, probably about 500+ during the last three years of high school (I will be a senior this year). Ive been a Girl Scout for about 12 years and I volunteer through and school organization (now cancelled) and I run a church bookstore every week.

I took 2 AP courses on my own (My school doesn't offer them) and unfortunately I got a 2 and a 3. (I didn't study too much for them either :<) I don't know how much they help/hinder...

I took a year of Volleyball but other than that, I have not participated in anything extracurricular (other than the volunteer work). My school has no clubs other than the volunteer one which I was in until it was cancelled last year. On the side (as hobbies) I have studied piano for several years and I took drums for a couple of years. I have also studied Spanish (in school and on my own), Korean (on my own), and French (on my own).

I'm sure I will have a strong personal statement and any essays/writings I may have. Recommendations would be very strong as well.

I would like to go into linguistics and/or languages.

I think that's all?

Thanks!!! :)

(Also, I am roughly 1/3 white (mixed German and Irish), 1/3 Mexican and Spanish, 1/4 Native American (Apache), 1/8 Croatian.)
(Also, I am the first of my parents to get a degree. My dad never finished high school, my sister never finished high school, and my mom went to college for about a year or two before she dropped out. I don't think that helps me much, but its worth a shot! Haha)

UCLA is my dream school and I know its a reach and they are extremely selective but I'm very, very passionate about languages and cultures and they have some amazing programs. I just want to know if I have a chance of getting in at all or if I should seriously consider other, easier schools and just apply to UCLA as a miracle sort of school.
