Chance me at UC Berkley, University of Washington and UCLA? :)

Hello! :)

3.97 GPA (unweighted. I don't think my school does weighted GPAs...).

I took the SAT without studying and got an 1800, I'm taking it again in October and actually studying this time so I think I'll do much better, hahaha. I took the PSAT and it said my projected score was 2000-2100 so I'm hoping to get more in that range.

I have a ton of volunteer hours, probably about 500+ during the last three years of high school (I will be a senior this year). Ive been a Girl Scout for about 12 years and I volunteer through and school organization (now cancelled) and I run a church bookstore every week.

I took 2 AP courses on my own (My school doesn't offer them) and unfortunately I got a 2 and a 3. (I didn't study too much for them either :<) I don't know how much they help/hinder...

I took a year of Volleyball but other than that, I have not participated in anything extracurricular (other than the volunteer work). My school has no clubs other than the volunteer one which I was in until it was cancelled last year. On the side (as hobbies) I have studied piano for several years and I took drums for a couple of years. I have also studied Spanish (in school and on my own), Korean (on my own), and French (on my own).

I'm sure I will have a strong personal statement and any essays/writings I may have. Recommendations would be very strong as well.

I would like to go into linguistics and/or languages.

I think that's all?

Thanks!!! :)

(Also, I am roughly 1/3 white (mixed German and Irish), 1/3 Mexican and Spanish, 1/4 Native American (Apache), 1/8 Croatian.)
(Also, I am the first of my parents to get a degree. My dad never finished high school, my sister never finished high school, and my mom went to college for about a year or two before she dropped out. I don't think that helps me much, but its worth a shot! Haha)

UCLA is my dream school and I know its a reach and they are extremely selective but I'm very, very passionate about languages and cultures and they have some amazing programs. I just want to know if I have a chance of getting in at all or if I should seriously consider other, easier schools and just apply to UCLA as a miracle sort of school.

By the way, I m not sure what my class rank is but I only have a class of 42 students. I know I’m in the top 5 but out of 42, that’s not much…
Also, I live in California.

I hope you add more private schools so you can take advantage of the 1/4 urm. All those schools are public, they probably are not allowed to considered AA. Your UC GPA could be low for those schools.

University of washington is very much possible. But UCLA and UCB will be pretty hard to get into unless you score way above 2100 and write an amazing essay. So do apply to other schools( the other UCs are less selective) + UCLA but don’t expect too much from it.

University of Washington is OOS and very expensive. Can you afford it? You need a 2300 to even have a chance at those UCs…

You don’t need 2300 to get into those UCs but maybe in the 2100+ range.
But do other UCs have the major you want? UCs are very GPA conscious.

first time on here so bear with me! can anyone chance me for UCLA and UC Berkeley
