I am a native american male(URM) from Oklahoma. I scored a 2100 on the SAT(which I will probably re-take), and a 32 on the ACT. I'm not sure of my weighted GPA(We do have weighted), but my unweighted grades are F-3.5uw, S-3.8uw, J-3.8uw S-3.8uw(predicted)..those gpa's could be a little bit lower/higher as I can't remember the exact GPA's. I will be a "national"? AP Scholar as well due to my scores, if I keep up the current trend. My passions are tennis, school involvement, and volunteering. I am a nationally ranked tennis player, and have been playing competitively since grade school. For school involvement, I have been in a class called leadership from sophomore to senior years. This is the class that plans all of the school activities like dances, homecoming, spirit week, etc... I have had several co-chair offices in Stu-co as well and attended a leadership/student council summer camp for a week in each summer. As for volunteering, I have started my own volunteering organization with a name and have recruited a few people to participate with me. Nothing big, but basically, I go to any nursing home/hospice in my area and sit individually with the people in each room and participate in Art(painting, pastels), and Music (I play the guitar for them, and with them, if they can play). By the end of HS I will have about 600-650 hours of this volunteering along with some basic volunteering at the local art museum. My essays and rec's should be great.

Thank you for reading, sorry about the length!

Because you are a URM and have your tennis thing going for you, I would say that you have a decent shot at most of these schools (well, I can't speak for the London school because I have no idea about it). However, your test scores and GPA are fairly low for some of these colleges, mostly the Ivy Leagues, and I seriously doubt that you can get into Wharton, because it is ridiculously tough to get into, and you haven't listed many business experiences, whether it is an EC or not. Additionally for most of the Ivies, it's a tossup as to whether you get in or not, because a large part of it seems to be just luck. Anyway, try to keep your grades up, write some killer essays, and hope for the best. Good Luck! :D

even if you weren't a native-american you'd have great chances at most of those schools. colleges that are looking for diversity are looking for smart native-american students like yourself.
i'm in the same boat as you right now except for me it's track. i'm not totally sure if i wanna run, but you can always quit once you get there, right?

haha thank you all for your responses. I am grateful for the hook though, I must say. I know its a toss-up at a lot of those schools, but do you think my safetys are safetys and do you think I will get into USC?

Stop bumping so much...I think you know well enough now what your chances are. If you want people to tell you that you have great chances, go study for that SAT and bring your test scores up another 150 points. Then you'll almost definitely get in.

Did you read "the Gatekeepers" It has like two chapters devoted to the Admissions guy traveling accross the U.S in search of one "Native Americain" for Weslyan's minority breakdown. The one guy they found had half of your credentials and grades and got financial aid and had schools jumping through hoops for him. I agree with the statement above, you could send an e-mail listing what you wrote here and pretty much say "You have 48 hours to accept me and please stipulate as to how much aid your willing to give.

It's nice your humble...but I'd start thinking about what Ivy League you want your masters from
