I have not yet written my essays or seen my recs but I presume they will both be pretty good.

I have no hooks and am in a high income bracket. What do you guys think my chances are?

I would ballpark 40% chance—really depends on your essay.

Strong and reasonable candidate, but the Ivy League schools are a reach for EVERYONE, so Penn is a reach for you…doesn’t mean you won’t get in, but no one is guaranteed a slot there.

You seem very qualified but Ivy admissions are a crapshoot most of the time. You have a good chance, but don’t be too mortified or surprised if you don’t get in. Choose a couple of other schools to apply to that you would be happy to go to.

Looks good but ur applying to an Ivy league where there are thousands of other very competitive applicants like you. Your academics and extracurriculars are excellent. You can probably get into a lot of other competitive schools. GOOD LUCK!

Also, I would like to know if you guys have any suggestion on what to do to improve my chances. Thanks and also bump

Think about your essays or even better, start on them during the summer. Think about something meaningful to you and convey it so that your essay reflects who you are and make sure that your genuine personality is reflected in the essay, not a made up one.
Ask for letter of recs early so you’ll be guaranteed a rec letter (people who ask late might not get one).

Bump… Its almost coming down to the deadline, and I would just like any feedback anyone has to offer. Chances are cool too.

How top of a prep school are we talking here? If you’ve got a 3.9 at Exeter or Andover that might be enough to get you in.

Less than a month left. Any thoughts?

Depends on your race if you’re whit or asian you’re like everyone else but your extracurriculars are great, grades great! but you’re like everyone else applying. make sure those essays really show you and stand out

@giafashion1 im white, but do you think that makes that big of a difference.

While these ratings are obviously not concrete they might help.
Common App essay: 9/10
Why Penn: 6.5/10 (Its not poorly written or anything, but will probably be the same level as most applicants)

Any more thoughts?

If I had to guess from looking at your app, I would’ve guessed you were applying to Wharton. Why aren’t you? What are your interests? Your ECs suggest an interest in business, and Wharton would of course be an excellent fit. And because of that, I think you might actually have an easier time of getting into Wharton than into CAS. Unfortunately, for a CAS app, your ECs are a little laundry list-y. Show your passion in your essays, and make sure you get meaningful recs. Your quantitative stats (SAT, gpa) got your foot in the door, they’re great. But the essays and rec letters are what will get you admitted. And if after reading them they can’t tell who you are or what your aspirations are, you have very little chance of getting in, despite everything else. So do your best to figure out where you’re headed and perhaps why you’re applying, and really make that shine through in your app. Also consider Wharton

So, based on what you’ve presented to me alone, I would say a low reach for Penn CAS.

Good luck!
