Hi! I am an incoming freshman at NU and I was wondering if you are applying to the school of communication or the school of arts and sciences. I don’t know much about admissions for the school of communication but I would like to note that you definitely don’t have to apply to the school of communications to pursue speech pathology. For example, my Weinberg major (linguistics) is actually very common for people going into that field.

I also got into WashU, so let me know if you have questions about my experience with either of those two schools!

Also, I don’t see anything holding you back from getting in from what you wrote (except for the things you can’t change like race, gender, and socioeconomic status), so you at least have a shot

I also applied to Case Western, and I think you will prolly get in.

Yeah, I don’t know if you would consider NW to be such a reach. Can I ask around what area you live? I hear that they are more lenient from those in the Chicago suburbs and from Chicago. At least, that’s what my College counselor told me. Washu should be easier to get into than NW.

@soontobecolleger Thanks for your reply! I will probably be applying to the school of communication. Do you know if one school is more selective than the other?

@ConcernedRabbit I’m from the Chicago suburbs.

@bookworm346 I really don’t know sorry. What I do know is that it’s pretty common for students to switch schools (especially into Weinberg from a different school).

Yeah, then you are probs not a reach, closer to a match. My college counselor said I was a high match, and your GPA beats mine (although my score are a tad higher). I’d say given how similar our profiles are, I would state that you would be a high match like me.

Can I ask please what speech pathology summer program you were a part of please? I am looking for one and having a hard time finding one. Thank you!

For casewestern it can be tricky, try to get an optional interview, that can often help a lot
