Chance me! AU & UBC

Hey guys. I'm applying for the University of British Columbia Okanagan Campus ( Majoring PPE = Philosophy, Politics and economics ) . and for the American University, Washington DC ( Majoring Political Science ) .

I 'm not actually concern about whether my qualification would be over qualified or not because I'm not taking an international education system, but however, an acceptable one. Below are my information, I will appreciate it if you could assist me.

9th Grade - 93.5 % (Palestinian School's don't give GPA)
10th Grade - 82.5 % ( I know its kinda low )
11th Grade - 93.9 %
12th Grade - predicting higher than 95 %

No SAT's ( Both school's don't require for international admission )

2 International honors ( FLL, UEF - both 1st places ) . 2 National Honors (FLL, Essay Writing - both 1st places) and a lot of extra activities.
18 hours part-time job monthly since 3 years.
(Only) 20 hours of voluntary work.

Actually, I know that my grades are able to get me into a good college, but I really aim at UBC or AU! My question once again : Can I guarantee a place in any of the chosen schools ?
Thanks in advance for your guidance

Bye

I applied to UBC Vancouver and AU this year for undergraduate economics BA and received an offer from both. I think you are more than qualified for these schools, for i had lower grades and scores than you  i would reject AU and go for UBC instead. In the areas you want to study in UBC has a far better education than AU. AU isn’t even in many of the rankings, even though it seems like a good option. The second reason I wouldn’t chose AU is the reputation. UBC is one of the “big three” in Canada and also it has a very good reputation internationally, since it is one of the best in its country. AU on the other hand doesn’t have a very good reputation, most of my friends and classmates never even heard of it until I talked to them. My point is you would be better of in one of the best in Canada, than you would be in “just another US university”. UBC is also the most funded school in research, so there are a lot of opportunities for you there. Plus, Vancouver is one of the most beautiful places in the world.

If you ask me, just forget about AU and chose UBC :)
