Chance me! Brown

Hey guys,

I’m curious about my chances for Brown.

I’m a rising senior and I have a 4.41 weighted/4.04 unweighted GPA. I’ve taken all honors classes for my core and language classes freshman-sophomore year. My junior year, I took two AP classes, and the rest honors. My senior year, I’m taking four AP classes and one regular class. So, a total of 6 AP, 12 honors, and 2 regular classes throughout my four years in high school. My weighted GPA shows an upward trend since freshman year.

As far as extracurriculars, I have been on student government for four years, as liaison (freshman year), and class president (sophomore, junior, senior years). I have run varsity cross country and track all three seasons for four years (doing well at state competitions and running in some national competitions), and I have been a captain of the cross country team for three years. I have been a member of Peers Against Narcotics and Drug Abuse for all four years, and I am a leader of this club my senior year. I am a mentor for a middle school student in the Little Big program (3 years). I have been a member of Future Business Leaders of America for four years and placed at states and qualified for/attended the national competition every year. I am a member of NHS and I have been a member of Leadership Corp (a club at my school where you assist underclassmen in teambuilding) since junior year.

I have taken the ACT and SAT once. I got a 34 on my ACT (36 English, 28 Math, 34 Reading, 36 Science, 11/12 essay) and a 1510 on my SAT (720 Math, 790 Reading).

I intend to major in political science, public policy, international relations, or psychology.

Thank you!

What activities relate to those possible majors? Are you active in community advocacy or with any reps/ campaigns this year?

Feel like you have great extracurriculars but lack a little in math. But, the most important question is, what makes you special? Anything that defines you? Make sure to demonstrate those in your essays. (Coming from a Brown '22)
