Could anyone give me my chances of admission to Carnegie Mellon’s School of Computer Science? Applied ED.
GPA (discounting classes taken during and before freshman year): 3.91 UW, 4.41 W
APs: 4 so far, 4 this year (note: my school limits the number of APs you can take, so the maximum I could have had was 5)
ACT Composite: 35
Extracurriculars, Awards, Honors (in no particular order):
Created cyber security club
Cyber Security team placed top 5 in state, top 40 in US
CTF team placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th in US in various competitions in last year
1st place in county science fair (computer science category), 3rd place in state science fair (computer science category)
Monetary award from a local college for my science fair project
Worked at a tech startup over the summer
Taken numerous online classes in machine learning, graph theory, discrete math, etc

Essays: 9/10
Recs (x4, 3 teacher and 1 employer): 8.5/10 (actual content would be very positive, but I have doubts as to how well 2 of the teachers can write)
@kirinaide lol, I was. CatsInBags is retired now, though, since one of our members graduated in June and we wanted to keep our record looking good. I now compete under another team name when I have time. Unfortunately I didn’t get in, @catchme326.
@barbaricclown sorry to hear that you did not get in. I thought you would. I have similar weighted GPA but worse unweighted, cuz all my courses are AP/IP except fitness, orchestra etc. My ACT is 36 and high SAT too. I have some significant math awards , which I think might be the difference.
