Chance Me! Cornell HumEc ED1, Johns Hopkins ED2, Northeastern ED2 or EA

Hey!

Would love to get an opinion on my chances of getting into my top three schools!

I’m applying ED1 to Cornell, College of Human Ecology, Human Biology, Health, and Society Major, debating between applying to Johns Hopkins or Northeastern ED2. My other schools are: UW Seattle, UMass Amherst, UofRochester, and UPitt.

I’m a South Asian, middle class, student in the Massachusetts area.

GPA: UW- 3.85/W: 4.4
Courses: All honors freshman and sophomore year, AP Bio, AP Lang, AP French junior year, taking AP Chem, AP Enviro, AP Lit, and AP Psych senior year (my schools only lets us take AP’s starting junior year)
Test-optional

Leadership:
On board of Future Medical Professionals Club
Founded Cancer Awareness Club

Other EC’s:
I have sang classical music for 13 years
Played viola for 6
Work a part time job (15-30 hours per week) as a waitress at a senior center

Activities relating to intended major:
Certificate Program in Medical Research, shadowed oncologists and worked with researchers
Global Engagement Certificate- for global volunteering, created capstone project for medical disparities

Let me know if you have any tips as well!

What were your AP scores? What is your rank?

Need to see your rank but my guess is no to Cornell and JHU and likely no to NEU although if you’re full pay maybe.

But - we are amateurs. If you want to apply, then apply - as long as you have targets and safeties.

You will be in at UMASS and Pitt for sure and likely UW.

Good luck.

why no to NEU?

Did you do an info session for CHE? - That’s important…then really tie your essay into your major and experience etc. They don’t want you to use it as backdoor. What was your SAT. I applied to CHE was offered transfer option…got into NEU (no $) at Tufts now (great $)

Good luck

I said likely no - better odds but NEU is brutal to get into. ED helps. A lot. I’ll assume cost doesn’t matter - and NEU plays into taking your money so that will help.
