Most colleges only view your R and M SAT, so they will see your score as (760+740)*(3/2) = 2250.
Unfortunately, your GPA is a bit on the low end, though maybe it is due to the school itself? How well known is the school you go to?
For right now:
Cornell: Reach
Tufts: High Match
University of Michigan: Match
Is your GPA you have provided for each of your years cumulative or independent for each year?
@agupte For schools that count only CR+M, they simply use a 1600 max scale. That is the way SAT score used to be. Also, UMich has a lower admission rate than Tufts and as competitive as Cornell for OOS students.
For OP, your GPA is quite low for UMich although you have a nice upward trend. What is your intended major? For LSA, the admission average GPA was 3.85 last couple years. For engineering, it has been 3.9. Your SAT score is around the admission average though. Considering the admission rate around 25% or OOS and perhaps international students, it would be a reach for you. Does your school use British or US system? It seems to be the latter as you are taking AP. Try to get an even stronger first semester senior GPA if you can. A higher SAT score may help too while SAT2 is not required by UMich.
Hey, you have a decent application. It doesnt help being asian, as that makes you an ORM. (I’m Indian, so I have the same problem. ECs need work. SAT score is great considering 1600 scale, I have the same score. Hopefully you took honors classes and other advanced classes. ECs need work. If you kill your SAT IIs, I’d say you have a 40% chance for Cornell and Tufts, and 50% for UMich. GPA is also a bit low, so no senioritis.
FYI. The OOS admission rate for UMich this year is near 20% (26% overall admission rate) and the mid 50 SAT is 2040-2280. Average admission GPA is still 3.85. That means your GPA is significantly below admission average while SAT is slightly above. So your chance is likely lower than the admission rate.
