<p>I am applying only to UCB and USC since I could only get their requirements.</p>
<p>My gpa is 4.0, I've completed IGETC.</p>
<p>But I am highly concerned about not meeting all major requirements until this sem..</p>

<p>UCB is requiring computer science 61B & 61C which are comsc 210 & 260 in my school.</p>
<p>I finished comsc 110, and taking comsc 265 in this sem since they are prerequisites of </p>
<p>210& 260, but need to take comsc 210 & 260 next spring prior to transfer</p>
<p>260 together </p>

<p>If you have a 4.0 after completing Calc, Linear, and Diff Eq, etc… Then you have a great shot. Most students take the 61 series at Berkeley after transfer, so don’t sweat it. Try to finish what you can.</p>
<p>If you intend to transfer to Berkeley, it is highly desirable to take the equivalents of CS 61B and 61C if available. The fewer lower division courses you need to “catch up” after transfer, the more room you will have in your four semesters at Berkeley to take upper division courses and electives.</p>
<p>Since you appear to be at Diablo Valley, you might even want to consider also going over to Laney and taking CIS 61 (= Berkeley CS 61A) and Engineering 17 (= Berkeley EE 42) to cover even more of the lower division courses for the Berkeley CS major.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, CIS 61 and ENG 17 are both not offered at Laney next semester

<p>I took 260 at DVC. If you’re really interested in assembly, wait and take 61C at Cal. It’s hella harder but it goes through multithreading and blah blah that you don’t get at DVC. Otherwise, take them and you should be pretty competitive as long as you keep your gpa up. From what I hear from my friends taking 61A right now, the prof is off the hook so you’ll enjoy the class. But it’s still hard.</p>
<p>For reference, I got into Cal but denied from USC. Go figure, haha.</p>

<p>It’s not impacted. You’re admitted into the College of Letters & Sciences and then have to declare your CS major by the end of your 2nd semester at Cal. I don’t know if you can declare until your first semester Berkeley grades have posted.</p>
<p>I think this is how all L&S majors work. I think they give you a bit of extra time for CS, though (until you have to declare) due to the limited availability of the CS 61 series outside of Berkeley.</p>
