School type: Medium-sized public school, a couple students go to Ivies every year, but never a lot

Recs: My english teacher’s rec will be great. I really enjoyed having her as my teacher and it seemed that she enjoyed having me as well.

My chemistry teacher will be my other recommendation and while I did well in the class I’m not sure if he would write a good letter.

Counselor rec: I know him well and go to him whenever I need help on anything. He knows me and is aware of some of the different extracurricular activities I do in and out of school.

Additional rec: not sure but ill either ask my intern professor or my orchestra teacher whos seen me exemplify leadership skills with the group on many occasions

Essays: will have to produce the best material i can...

Your application looks very good. I find no glaring weaknesses. I think you have a good chance at any of these schools, although there are never guarantees with most of the schools on your list. If I were you, I would include a letter of rec from your Red Cross supervisor to show how you genuinely aided your community. It will add a nice personal touch as well. Good luck!

Ditto what squibbles said. All of those schools are low reach. May i suggest playing up your leadership roles in some of your essays or recs?

I think you stand a very good chance of getting into any of these schools. Your SAT score is superb, and you have great ECs. I wish you the best of luck.

Just make sure that duke is your first choice. From general experience, washu is more difficult to get into, so if you are worried about admission acceptance, washu would be statistically more probable, but if duke is by far your first choice, you have a great shot at getting in.

Superb! I’d honestly be shocked if you didn’t get in everywhere RD

u have got great scores and amazing ECs, also if ur recs will be magnificent then u stand a good chance at all the mentioned universities

I’m chancing you back :). Your GPA is your only weakness but its definitely not a big one since you’ve clearly taken very challenging courses. Your scores are all great and your Red Cross work is incredible! I’d play that up in your essays if you can think of an angle. I think Rice, Johns Hopkins, and Wash @St. Louis will all take you easily. Duke’s a little harder but I think you have a good shot. My advice: rethink any teacher rec that you’re not sure if they love you. Good Luck!
