My letters are rec from my 9th grade geometry teacher and math honor society supervisor, my 10th grade ap psych teacher and current intro to social science research teacher, and my 11th grade physics teacher. I also sent in a rec from the president of kiwanis (affiliated with school key club). Also, my counselor rec must have been pretty good since she loves me

I’d say my common app essay is 9/10, very unique. (if you’d like to read, please pm)

I am applying to the following schools RD:

Boston College

Duke University
Emory University
Johns Hopkins University
Stony Brook
Bing
Washington University in St. Louis
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Sophie Davis
University of Rochester
UPenn

Thank you to all who takes the time to read this lengthy post. I know these aren’t the best representation, but I wanted to alleviate some of my nerves because I think I may have applied to way too selective schools with my stats. Anyways, thanks guys. Good luck if you’re applying this year as well.

Anyone?

What the heck is “Polar Bear?”

@awesomepolyglot lmao it’s basically gym

I think why you’re not getting many chances is your thing is so long! You’re adding a lot of information that doesn’t need to be there and I couldn’t for your overall hs GPA

@prettygreat haha yeah I know it’s so long, but I thought I might as well just add it. If someone wants to read it, they can but if not they can just read the stuff they need to read to chance me ya know?

Yeah I’ll try and read through it and chance you

Oh and by the way on a 4.0 scale you have a 4.0 which could get you into some ivies

@prettygreat awesome! Thanks man! :slight_smile:

You have all the right academics besides SAT, ACT is great for Harvard and pretty much any other ivy school. You have a high chance in pretty much any school ID say when applying, apply for 3 ivies 3 second tier and 3 third tier schools that would be your safety school.

I will chance you for the schools you listed now I just saw those

Pretty good chances. But 86 hours PER week? I’m not accusing you of over exaggerating, but isn’t that a bit too much? That would mean that you’d have to spend about 12 hours per day on the weekends and weekdays along with school.

You have some pretty good stats; I would think that you’re a high match to Boston College, Boston University,Emory, Stony Brook, UNC, and Urochester.

I think that the other schools (Cornell, duke, jhu, WUSTL, Sophie Davis) are pretty much a reach for anybody, but you seem to have good stats and extracurriculars, so you seem pretty qualified and probably will be competitive for admission. Good luck on your applications!

@ayyyyyyy huh? where does it say 86 hours per week? @synperiplanar thank you so much for your input. Hopefully I get in, thanks a lot! And good luck to you too if you’re applying:)

I added them up

Ohh, well a lot of these aren’t in the same time. I think the only ones that could be a little off are the honor societies, but not by too much

@ayyyyyyy I actually just caught a mistake. The youth group is only in the summer. Do you think I should email my schools?

Nah don’t worry, unless the youth group hours makes the hours per week to excessive.

Also, chance back?
