Hey guys, UC Irvine was originally my back-up / safety school, but I didnt get any regents or CHP notifications so I’m getting a bit worried. Thanks for your time!

My essays were pretty good i believe. My friends and teachers said that they were unique and very well written. I worked on them through the summer.

Many of my friends with lower stats received regents/ chp to uci. Not to brag or sound pretentious, but does UCI reject over qualified students? I have received invitation to apply regents at both UCLA and Berkeley so I am surprised I didnt get anything from UCI.

I applied computer science.

I had similar stats to you and I got into UCI. I however had a 36 on ACT, maybe that’s why. Also, in my essays I talked about important topics in a more general sense and how they related to my experiences. Stuff like changing the status quo.

O Dang, thats weird. Should I call the UCI admission office or does it not matter?

No, UCI doesn’t reject over-qualified students. Must be some random factors that come into play for CHP. Your stats certainly make you a strong candidate as evidenced by your selection for Regents at UCLA and Berkeley.

You’re not overqualified. Universities don’t reject overqualified students.
