hi everyone, I am considering taking a bit of a risk and applying ED2 to Hamilton (which I absolutely love) despite bit of low GPA. I am hoping to be an English major and I know Hamilton is really strong for English, and I also love the small LAC vibe. I attend a prep school in Connecticut so unfortunately I will be competing with a lot of my classmates for a spot at Hamilton. here are my stats:
ACT: 32 composite (31 science, 35 reading, 33 English, 28 math)
GPA: 3.4 uw (I don’t know what it would be weighted but I am in a few advanced and AP classes)
AP’s: Language and Composition- 5
US History- 5
Literature- I am taking it this year
EC’s:
- editor of literary magazine
- I work as a swim instructor during the summers
- I volunteer as a tutor at a local elementary school
- I volunteer at a local senior center
- I teach free swimming lessons once a week for inner city kids nearby my high school
- I am on the varsity swimming and water polo team at my high school
- I was a senior leader at a team building retreat for underclassmen students
- I am a tour guide at my school
If you guys could give me any idea of my chance at admission or if you even think it is worth it for me to apply ED2 then that wouldn’t be really helpful. Also, I am applying to a lot of nepsacs regular decision so if you think my stats put me in a good position for any of those then please let me know.
Thank you!
