Chance me (engineering) for Cornell, UCLA, UIUC, PSU, UMich, etc

I am an Asian American male, soon to be senior with a middle class upbringing. My parents are divorced. I am recruited lightly by NAIA and other Division III schools for football but no offers. If any additional info is required just let me know (I am new to this process). Thank you everyone.

P.S. Do public schools prefer out of state applicants compared to in state due to a greater tuition cost for out of staters?

Thank you once again

good ACT and ECs but nothing else after added to the fact that engineering is quite competitive. I say no at cornell, michigan, illinois, ucla, cal poly, and minnesota. Reach at Oregon State, washington, and penn state. Match at uconn

How are your essays and rec’s? Just wondering

Essays are most likely going to be decent. I am not the most gifted/creative writer but i can get by. My references most likely will be very good as I will ask my biology teacher (illinois grad) and my english teacher for recs (from previous students at my hs they both have a good reputation of past recomendations)
