Chance Me: Exeter and Lawrenceville

I know these kinds of threads are really unwelcome and probably pointless, but I'm just so nervous that I decided to just go ahead and do a Chance Me.
I have had my interview with Exeter-it was 45 minutes and I think it went okay. I have my Lawrenceville interview in two weeks.

I don't really know what to make of my teacher recommendations-the teachers don't love me or hate me, and I don't know what they said because of the rules and stuff...

I wasn't sure what to send in for an essay, so I sent in a research paper on the Opium Wars and a Memoir.

My written essays are okay, according to my language arts teacher, but I'm still improving them so I haven't sent them in yet.

Once again, sorry for participating in such a mundane activity, but after seeing some of the people who were rejected from these schools I just wanted to see the opinion of some others on this forum. Some of the people who were rejected had college-like resumes! I'm really nervous... (And if you are annoyed at a prospective student like me posting this, we KNOW, it's just that we're too nervous to resist asking.) Anyway, thanks for any insights you can give me.

Okay, I won’t lecture you on the whole concept of “chance me.” But as a parent, I WILL state that, as you are in the middle of the application process, I think you are sharing WAY too many self-identifying details.

There. I’ve said it. Do with it what you will. I leave it to others to play the “chance me” game with you ;-)

Wow, I am exhausted trying to keep up with everything you have done. I recognize a perfectionist when I see one (if only because my son is too.) Do you have vey strong grades, scores, and EC’s? Of course you do. The treacherous thing about the “chance me” threads is that none of us can really say if a school will accept you or not. Certainly, you have done everything you can to put yourself in the best possible position. Now, it is up to your chosen schools to recognize that. Good luck and best wishes!

-girlgeekmom: yeah, i read about that so i altered some of the stuff that could be used to identify me-thanks for the warning though

-paobs12: i know that too, but I wanted to know how I was doing IN COMPARISON to other students applying-no one can really tell me whether I’m in or not but the admissions office :P

Purpleswirl, I think I would focus on some of the really unique and interesting things you have done…Bollywood lead dancer? Fluent in Kannada? Forestry? As you said, you are probably in the toughest applicant pool as an Asian girl; at the same time, in my limited experience, you present a strong case for yourself on paper. Emphasize your stand-out talents (of course!) in your interviews and essays. The boarding school application process is a scary one, but you have a lot of talents, I think, that will make schools look twice.
