I wrote to the President, and he replied.
I participated in Yale's Girls Science Investigation for two years.
I write all the time. Planning to publish a book in three years.

So what do you think? Do I have a chance? Comments and suggestions? What BS do you think I might get in? Thank you so much for all of your time!

So, your grades are excellent, but your ecs are lacking. I don’t see any real commitment in your out-of-school pursuits [nothing longer than four years]. The fact that you wish to publish a book in three years is totally irrelevant. Unless you have already published it, refrain from mentioning it on your app. Your Yale Science program is a plus, as it shows that you are a competitive candidate [accepted into a program put out by an ivy], but the fact that you wrote to the president and “he” replied is also irrelevant [it’s neat, but it doesn’t necessarily mean you have strong writing skills]. Now, the big issue is: you’re asian. I’m not sure if being asian has the same negative impact on bs admissions as it does on college admissions, but if so, then your chances are significantly decreased [you have done nothing to deviate from the standard asian mold, advanced math-badminton and tennis, chinese caligraphy, science camps-but I wish you best of luck, and think that you have a good chance at all the schools you are applying to. [just curious, are you applying for FA? If so, that WILL hurt your chances]

^^^ this guy doesn’t know anything! I mean everything you said was great. Schools will love to know you want to publish a book. it shows drive! your ecs are fine. I go to sps right now and looked half as great as you! The thing it boils down to is if in your interview you fit. I mean you can be one thing on paper but it all matters who you are in person.

I am in 8th Grade applying to 9th grade to Phillips Exeter Academy

Middleschools8-
No, my family background’s asian, but I’m American. I was born in America, lived in America, and went to school in America. And I am pretty sure that knowing Spanish deviates from the Asian mold.
In fact, I am positive about that, because barely any Asians know how to speak Spanish. But thank you for the comment.

Texaschica-
Thank you! How is SPS? Do you really like it? How’s the workload? Around what percentile did you get for the SSAT?
