Hello everyone,

I am new here, so if I'm breaking some sort of policy for anything I do, please tell me. I am a 10th grade student, thinking about applying to Exeter for my 11th grade year. I am not looking at any other prep schools, but I am interested in Exeter because of the Harkness method (and their financial aid doesn't hurt). I currently go to one of the best (day) prep schools in the Southeast United States, and I am relatively happy there. However, I have fallen in love with Exeter, and the classes at my current school, though challenging, are often boring. My school does not rank, and though I am one of the better students, I am definitely not in the top 5-10%. Could you guys tell me what you think my chances are at Exeter and if I should even bother applying?

Here are my stats
-Weighted GPA: ~4.4
-Unweighted GPA (not provided by school, but roughly estimated): 3.8
-PSAT (last year): 192
-Classes (this year) Chinese III H, Computer Science AP, Combined Biology Honors/ Chemistry Honors, English II H, Pre-Calculous Honors, and Science Research Honors(more about that Later)
-My grades from last year were all in the "A" range, except for Chinese, in which I got an 89.
-I am a member of various clubs, and I am an officer in the Computer Science Club
-I am a member of my school's judiciary committee, which basically acts as a governing position over the student council (including approving clubs & club activity, and making changes to the constitution, among other things). I was appointed to this position after an application process.
-Over the summer I work at a local computer software company, testing software and writing some marketing material
-I am in "Science Research" at my school. Science Research is both a class and an extra-curricular activity, in which we learn about research techniques and then choose a research project to work on (often in association with a research lab at some university). I was selected for this after a competitive and extremely long application process.

Other facts:
-I am not athletic, and I don't do any sports (though I did do two weeks of crew over the summer, and I have the opportunity to join the crew team at my school in the spring- not sure if I will)
-I consider myself a pretty good writer, and I interview well

Thank you very much for your time!
