Like many on CC, you seem to have lots to commend you. Earning top grades and test scores in parallel with a wide range of EC activities and sports is hard. Keep up the way you are going and it will not matter one bit whether you are accepted to Exeter or any specific school; you will be on track for a great set of college options and headed toward a successful career regardless of the eventual names on your diplomas.

Great answer bostdad!

Thanks! You have wisdom, that much is assured! Great answer!

From what i’ve gathered, Exeter admits those they think would benefit well from their school. you seem to be quite excellent without Exeter! goodluck!! xx

Thanks, we will see! I am hoping to go to exeter because of their science program, and i thought my interview went pretty well (it was pretty long though almost 2 hours)

How were your interviews? Anyways the only thing I see that could be problematic but won’t be a big deal is the fact that you are taking Pre Calc. I take Algebra 2 and I am in 8th grade… I actually a bit on the low end of the scale at my school.

My interviews went well. Precalc is considered advanced at my school we only go up to bc calc. Algebra 1 was only offered at 8th grade. But anyways my interview was Very good. Thanks!

Anyone else?

Once more before decision time!

i came in as a new junior, and wow your stats are far more impressive than mine… Most new uppers who come in are very intelligent or are sports recruits, and there are limited spots so be aware.

If you want to study science at Exeter, I’d think again… Exeter doesn’t have the best science program - we’re better at math and history. The science department has really gone down in the past few decades and there’s nothing really stellar about it.

There are just a few changes I would make to your application. I don’t think some schools would like all the “padding” you’ve got, which I guess kind of comes across as listing everything you’ve done. It doesn’t matter if you leave off a few things. List the things that matter to YOU. Connect it with your essays. Exeter probably wants to see a human being, not a resume. (And by the way, in your essays if you could tell about all that humanitarian work, that would be totally AMAZING. They love that stuff ;))
If you don’t get in it’s not the end of the world. You have amazing stats. That said, I would also consider applying to other schools. Probably GLADCHEMMS schools like Hotchkiss, Andover, Deerfield and the like, but also a few safety schools if you’re intent on getting into boarding school.
On chancing terms, I think you’ll do amazing in the stats portion. You just have be yourself in the interview. And be nice. If you have a good personality, that would be great. Make sure to be the same in your essays as you are in person. Good Luck! You have a GREAT future ahead of you.
