I think you have an amazing shot at any of those schools. You and I wrote about a similar topic for our essays (diversity in film for women of color is SO important). Your GPA (unweighted and weighted) is very strong and so is your SAT. Because I am familiar with Boston U, I think you have a great chance of being admitted there (word on the street is that they consider your GPA heavily).

Wish you the best! Good luck

Thanks @awo1999. Good luck on your applications too!

You seem like you have a pretty good shot, and I especially think that the film internship sets you apart! I think you might’ve wanted maybe one more film extracurricular, maybe a submission to a film contest or something like that. But other than that, the grades are there, the test scores are there, the internship and other accolades are there. I think you have a really good chance!

By the way, if you uploaded your Chapman supplemental video to YouTube, I’d love to see it!

You have a pretty good shot at all of these, and I’d say NYU and Boston are almost matches! Your academics are impressive and your essay seems pretty good.

You seem like a good applicant. I know your major can be very subjective, but your good sat and gpa will help you. Also, that film production internship will look great. Also, LMU released EA decisions today if you applied EA. Good luck:)

You should get into most, if not all of these schools. LMU will offer you at least $10K per year in merit aid, and Chapman will offer you $20K. You will get into Emerson but they don’t offer merit aid. USC, Boston & NYU will likely accept you but idk about their merit aid programs. You should hear from LMU very soon, Chapman sends acceptance packages for all programs except film for arrival close to Christmas eve ( film program, that comes out in February I think). Emerson I think is February or March. USC, NYU and Boston U are usually later. Best wishes and have fun!

@jennacwa @pdwm56 What happened with LMU last year though is that they ended up deferring a lot of Early Action applicants because they fell behind on the review process. My friend who applied Early Action to film and a bunch of other EA students got deferred, and another friend of mine who applied Regular Decision got in. I know they fell behind last year, and I’m not sure if that happened again this year or not, but just keep that in mind. As for Emerson, I think their decisions are probably going to come out this week or next, as many people on the Emerson Early Action thread said those decisions should be released on December 16th or other similar dates.
