Hi, I’m a junior from Northern California. Could you please chance me for all the UCs? I don’t have a particular favorite yet, but I prefer NorCal since it’s closer to home
NOTE: PLEASE BE AS BRUTAL/REALISTIC AS POSSIBLE
GPA
UW: 3.7 (top 10% of my class of about 750)
UC GPA (10 & 11): 3.95
SAT: haven’t taken yet, aiming for 2000+
ACT: composite is 29, will retake and aiming for 32+
SAT II: took World History, will take US History and Literature
Course Load (Honors and AP)
Freshman: English 1 Honors (no APs offered for freshman)
Sophomore: English 2 Honors, WHAP (only WHAP and AP Bio offered for sophomores and I don’t like science very much)
Junior: AP Lang, APUSH, AP Environmental Science
Senior: AP Government, AP Lit, AP Calc BC, AP Euro, AP Human Geography, and Physiology (which isn’t an AP but is considered one of the hardest classes at my school)
ECs
-volunteered at the summer reading program at the local library every summer since 8th grade (~300 hours)
-secretary of a local teen-run library organization for three years, will be co-pres next year, won “Heroes of District 5” award
-board member of my school’s California Scholarship Federation this year, will run for co-pres next year
-historian of Environment Club this year
-two years of Speech and Debate Club, will run for secretary next year
-one year in Odyssey of the Mind, won 2nd place in regional and top 10 in state competitions
-four years in Korean Club
-four years in Acts of Random Kindness Club
Personal Statements
Obviously, since I’m a junior, I haven’t written them yet, but I pride myself in my writing skills and believe that I can deliver enough passion to compose two pretty rocking pieces
Also, I’m currently debating between majoring in Poilitical Science, History, or English Literature, but will probably end up double-majoring with a minor since I’m extremely indecisive. After undergrad, I plan on going to law school, so I seriously need help choosing a good UC
Thanks so much! Have a lovely day (or night, since it’s currently 3 AM).
