Feeling confident about being a recipient for a literary awards competition at my school. I find out mid April tho.

Ive gotten some pretty bad breaks by having some bad teachers who do not teach efficiently and as a result, I got like a B in the class… going to school in DC is a dream of mine. Would love to here thoughts! American or GWU!

ALSO have volunteered on local city council campaigns.

Wanting to do pre law or political science at the 2 schools.

Hit a 30+ on the ACT then I definitely think you can get into AU, however with GWU it might still be a bit of a uphill battle for you (especially political science). Do you know if your grades are weighted? Have you consistently took an AP every year (colleges like to see that you are consistent and challenges yourself every year). If you were to keep up the uptrend of grades for your junior year then that will weight in heavily as it shows you are maturing. Make sure you write an excellent college essay and get excellent teacher’s recommendation as well!
