Thank you! Anyone else? Please?

I’d say you are not crazily out of range for any of those schools. Among the LACs, Pomona and Middlebury will be very tough though. Not being in the top 10%, M&CR scores under 700, and especially a D, could sink your application to those schools without a pretty flashy EC or, perhaps, really fabulous essays.

I think you have a decent shot at the other LACs, but I’d recommend adding/swapping at least one that is a tad less selective than St. Olaf. Check out Lawrence University for example.

Colby, Macalester and Colorado College are about equally selective. Your chances of getting into 1 or more of these should be much better than your chances of getting into Midd or Pomona. Colorado College is likely to care a lot about “fit” since they are on an unusual “block plan” that can be great for some kids, not so great for others. So maybe they would take a chance on a kid with a “flawed” transcript, if the essays/interview/etc. do communicate that goodness of fit (by stating how you’d take advantage of the focus and flexibility the block schedule allows).
