(Thanks in advance for replying and reading through all of this!)

I'm an 8th grade female half asian, half caucasian student who is applying to Andover, Exeter, and Hotchkiss for 9th grade.

-SSAT Scores:
Verbal: 752 (93 percentile)
Math: 761 (91 percentile)
Reading: 701 (82 percentile)
Overall: 2214 (92 percentile)
I'm retaking it this Saturday to try and boost my scores. Hopefully schools take improvement into account?
-Have gotten A+/A/A- since 6th grade.
-Have played the piano for 5 years and used to play at NEC.
-Have done ballet for 11 years, currently enrolled at Boston Ballet School and have performed onstage with their company. (I dance 5 days a week which is why my list of ECs is quite small)
-Take French and Latin at school currently.
-Strong writing skills.
-Used to do swimming.
-Haven't had my Exeter or Hotchkiss interviews yet but my Andover interview was amazing and my interviewer said that Andover would benefit from me. He also introduced me to another Admissions person that has worked with Boston Ballet before.

Also hoping for full FA or close to full FA, which I know will decrease my chances by a lot.

You seem like you have really strong chances. I personally don’t know if being half-Asian makes you an ORM, but besides that, you seem to be a really attractive candidate!

Update: I am NOT applying to Hotchkiss. I’m only going for A and E. I also got a B+ in math as of last term. My math teacher likes me though and says that I am a good problem solver so I’m hoping for a relatively good recommendation letter. I had my Exeter interview recently; it went well and my interviewer introduced me to the retired Officer of Admissions. Will my math grade bring down my chances? (sorry if you do not like these sort of posts) I have gotten all A/A+ in the rest of my classes. The only bad grade is the B+.

You mentioned that u had really strong writing. Try to win some comps nationally or regionally. It’ll help ur chances by a lot, especially since andover is often considered to be a humanities school. I think ur math B+ can decrease ur chances a bit, but just try to emphasize ur stronger points more.

I don’t really understand the point of asking this board about chances. Do you put much stock in responses when there are 7th and 8th graders providing their viewpoints? How much to you think they know about how admissions works?
