  • Robotics (definitely my most significant EC): involved since 3rd grade Lego robotics, on varsity team since 10th grade, 4 leadership positions including captain next year, will also be lettering this year
  • Student writing tutor: will probably be head tutor next year
  • ACT tutoring: student-run nonprofit, some sort of leadership next year
  • Band: Marching/pep band during football/basketball season since 10th grade, 2 "Superior" ratings in state solo/ensemble contest (10th and 11th grade), varsity letter
  • City leadership award for my volunteering through robotics (coaching elementary Lego teams, running Lego summer camps)

I’m also Hispanic and out of state.

Those are nearly identical to my stats (like literally down to robotics captain / marching band), and I got in. The only difference is I’m not a URM and I was in-state, which are both things that they aren’t supposed to take into account, but they probably do. Anyway, the second hurts you but the first helps, so it’s likely a wash.

There are certainly a lot of people here who got in with worse stats - I would say you’re in a good position. Without having something incredibly cool, no one could call Cal a safety, but I’d call it a target for you.
