I'm thinking about majoring in engineering or economics. Yeah, I know my GPA isn't that great but it isn't bad. I've never been the greatest student nor the worst. I always seem to be in the middle academically and I can only fault myself for that. The CSUs that I want to apply to are CSU Long Beach, Los angeles, Fullerton, San Benardino, Cal Poly Pomona, Chico, Fresno, Humboldt State, Channel Islands, San Marcos, San Francisco, and San Jose State. I prefer to get into ones that are local like Cal Poly Pomona, Long Beach, Los Angeles, and Fullerton but I'll go anywhere in CA for my major if I have to. I've seen the average GPA for transfer students for Cal Poly Pomona for engineering it's about 3.3, so I'm a bit worried if I'll even be considered. I'm sure other CSUs like Long Beach, Fullerton, Los Angeles have around the same GPA for the major. Maybe Long Beach is a bit higher since their pretty competitive. I think safe schools would be Channel Islands, San Marcos, or Humboldt, although I could be wrong.
I have 26 units done so far. By finishing the classes in progress, I'll have 41 units done. I'll be doing 19 units my last semester. I had about a 3.4 GPA without chemistry but mistakes were made and I'm in this situation. I already
registered for my classes for the spring but I got waitlisted(Physics 3 and Differential Equations) for two that I wanted so I had to look for other classes to fill them in as units. This semester besides the A I got in Communications Fundamentals, I can get B’s in the rest besides Physics. What do you guys think, do I have a chance at any of these CSUs for those two majors? If not, what CSUs do you think will take me besides these?
