Any input on what can I do to improve would be much appreciated! Thank you!

Wow! You certainly have a shot at CalTech, although it’s not guaranteed. Otherwise, I’d say your chances are very strong everywhere else. Pitzer is quirky about whom they accept. They accepted my son, and his stats weren’t even close to yours, but they are - as I said - quirky. I think that LMU and Chapman are safe; USC, UCLA, and Scripps are solid matches; CMC a high match; Pitzer a likely match, but a wild card; CalTech a statistical reach, but a very realistic one (especially for a female applicant). Are you planning to commute? Otherwise, why not include Stanford and Berkeley? Why not Pomona, also? I think that UCSD or UCSB would be decent match and safe schools for you, if you aren’t planning to commute. You are spectacularly qualified, and might as well aim high as long as you have a few safeties in the UC system.

@woogzmama‌ Thanks for all the input! I’ll be commuting, so I’ll need to stay within an hour or so from home. Pomona doesn’t offer my major, so that’s why I’m not considering it.

Does anyone know much about merit scholarships at these schools?

Bump…

Pomona has a biochemistry major…it’s one of the branches of the chemistry major.

<a href=“Program: Chemistry Major - Pomona College - Acalog ACMS™”>Program: Chemistry Major - Pomona College - Acalog ACMS™;

At first when you said Iranian-American I’m like haha no way same but actually I’m a Baha’i too!
Anyway I’d say you’re pretty much guaranteed into UCLA and USC and the rest you’ve got a really good shot (even Caltech).

You definitely have a chance! Your scores are great for those colleges, and your ethnicity places you at an advantage. Good luck! Chance me please - http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1674376-i-really-need-help-please.html#latest</a></p>

@loveandmayhem‌ Woohoo! Twins! :D

@worrywart2k15‌ Sorry, but I don’t know much about the schools on your list. :(

Are you applying early decision or early action to any of these colleges?

Just to LMU, and I decided to take Caltech off my list just because there’s no way I’d be able to afford it.

Well as far as financial aid, I’ve researched the Claremont colleges a lot and they aren’t known for giving out that much aid. They do have some half-tuition and full tuition scholarships, but they cost roughly $60k, so if you’re intent on getting good scholarships I would look elsewhere. However, with your academic standing I bet you would get a ton of aid from any school.

@Soncy7‌ Do you know if Pitzer even has merit-based scholarships? I can’t find anything about it on their website.

I know they try to focus on regular scholarships, so I don’t know if they even have any merit scholarships sorry
